Pen Portrait of Loveday Fisk
Co Opted Governor
Term ends 23.6.21

My name is Loveday and I have been a staff and now co-opted governor for eight years at Hadrian. I took on this role as I wanted to work with the governors and leadership team to contribute to our whole school.

My particular interests as a governor are around ensuring our curriculum and provision meets the needs of all of our children; that we celebrate all of the outstanding work that goes on across school as well as continually reflecting on and developing what we do.

I am a teacher here at Hadrian and have worked here for 12 years. I was inspired to train to be a teacher after volunteering here in Denise’s class, while I was a qualified project manager in a Local Authority. Walking up the hill towards the school every Wednesday morning, I felt so lucky. I couldn’t believe that I was allowed in the building to work with and support the children. Because of that experience I changed my career so I could do it every day. I still get that feeling of being so lucky to work here and be part of our community.

I now teach a class of children who are on a sensory and therapeutic curriculum, with a big focus on engagement and communication through everything we do. I have delivered many school-wide projects and have been the Curriculum Lead for communication for eight years.

Outside of Hadrian, I was raised in Yorkshire and moved to Newcastle to go to university at 18. I now live in the beautiful Whitley Bay with my husband and two wonderful sons. I enjoy a peaceful life full of friends, family and nature.

I am very proud to support our exceptional school, our children, our families, our colleagues and our community as a governor.
