Welcome to class 3/4.
What a fantastic start to the school year. The children in class 3/4 have settled into their new class so quickly and are really beginning to show us how brilliant they are. We have had a lovely first couple of weeks getting to know the children and introducing the staff that will be working with them for the year ahead. The children are starting to get used to our routines in class and have responded fantastically to incredibly busy school days.
We have a new friend in class called Muhammad. Muhammad is new to Hadrian school and is starting to find his way around the school and making lots of new friends. We wish Muhammad a happy and fun time in his journey through Hadrian school.
We have started some literacy and numeracy work this week. In literacy we have introduced the children to the story Stick Man by Julia Donaldson which led us on to making our very own stickmen in Art. We collected sticks from the adventure playground and used them to make stick men with our own faces. In Numeracy we have been busy learning about big and small and working on our counting skills. The children engaged really well in the various activities including building towers, exploring big and small shapes and knocking down skittles.
In cookery we made pizzas and sandwiches. Choosing their own toppings and fillings the children really got stuck in to using different skills to choose, spread and chop the ingredients to make their perfect pizza and sandwich. They then enjoyed eating what they had made for their snack.
The children participated in cosmic yoga yesterday and showed us just how flexible they are with the different positions they could make with their bodies.
We have also had time to fit in a litter pick around school this week to help keep our school nice and tidy! The children were absolutely fantastic as they took their litter pickers and went around the grounds picking up lots of litter. They really are fantastic at helping to keep our school clean and tidy.
We are looking forward to a fun, happy and busy year ahead with the children in class.
Wishing everyone a lovely, happy and restful weekend in preparation for another fun filled week.
