Becky’s Blog

A wonderful Week

7th October 2022Becky Seeber

This week we kicked our Monday off with a lovely chilled meditation session after PE. This is something we all love and benefit from. We love fun and energetic activities, but we also love  winding down and knowing what it feels like to be calm and relaxed.

On Tuesday we made an amazing leek and potato soup. In the morning we watched a video on how to make the soup. We then had symbols for equipment and ingredients and we organised them into the right place on our sheet. In the afternoon we took our lists down to the food technology room and we used them to know how our leek and potato soup was made. During this lesson we all showed incredible engagement throughout and we did some very good cleaning up and tidying away once we had finished.

On Wednesday, we continued making our Roman soldier armour. We absolutely loved making our helmets and we shall soon look like proper Roman soldiers.

On Thursday, we had a lovely maths lesson. We used our 1:1 correspondence skills and fine motor skills to place the right amount of little people into the corresponding number pot, using tweezers.

After play we continued with our meditation session and listened to some relaxing music, we had some lovely lavender aromas diffused around the room to relax us. We then took a trip the THRIVE room which we all love, we listened to music, dressed up and danced the afternoon away.

We hope you all have a lovely weekend and stay safe!

Our First Blog

30th September 2022Becky Seeber

Hello everyone, welcome to our new blog. We have been settling back into school and getting to know our new friends very well.

We started the week off with some baking. We tried all of our ingredients, listened well to instructions and produced some very tasty flapjacks.

On Wednesday we took a trip to the mud kitchen and had a splash! In the afternoon we went out to collect some leaves and acorns and came back in to make some hedgehogs with everything we had collected.

On Thursday, We had our first sing school session. We all love sing school so much and we always look forward to our next session. In he afternoon we all took a trip to the thrive room, something we also love. We also practiced our reading and math skills through the day too.

We hope you all have a lovely weekend and stay safe!

What a lovely week!

30th September 2022Becky Seeber

This week we started off our sensory story about the Romans, we explored the sound and movement of clocks. We also explored different facial expressions we could use to show we were bored and tired. We then began to dress up as a Roman soldier preparing for war.

To carry on our topic of the Romans, we took a trip to the food technology room and we made apple pie. We had to peel and chop the apples up into small pieces and then boil them. Once we had done that, we then used our tickling fingers to rub the butter, sugar and flour together to make the crumble.

On Wednesday, we went down  to the Mud kitchen, which we love! In the afternoon we then made some Roman shields. These were amazing and we shall soon be fully armored to become a Roman soldier.

On Thursday, we started our weekly meditation sessions. We made the room lovely and cosy and we began to practice our breathing techniques. This helped us to become more relaxed and recognise how it feels when we are calm. In the afternoon we then went down to the THRIVE room. We love dressing up and role play and some of us even met a policeman while in school.

We hope you have a lovely weekend and stay safe!
