Escape to the Country!

3rd May 2019Phil Cookson

We just wanted to say a massive thank you to everyone who attended our play all about World War 2 on Wednesday! We all had lots of fun bringing our curriculum to life and displaying our learning through the medium of drama and music. The children deserve all the credit as they have worked very hard and shown great levels of patience during practices! Well done to all involved and all the staff as it would have been impossible without their hard work and commitment.

Have a lovely weekend.

Phil and Ellen

Congratulations Oliver!

3rd May 2019Simon Hall

We would like to say a big congratulations to Oliver who got our half-term achiever for his amazing work over the last half-term. Oliver has tried very hard at a whole range of activities over the last half-term. He has really improved his fine & gross motor skills. He has built up his confidence and his relationship with those around him. But most impressively, Oliver has really developed his communication skills. He is signing in a much wider range of situations and is beginning to vocalise. We are incredibly proud of you Oliver. Well done!

Fun At The Fairground!

3rd May 2019Simon Hall

This Thursday we had an absolutely amazing treat. The local police organised for our children to visit Nunsmoor Fair. We were allowed unlimited access to various rides for free! They made sure there was no loud music and they even gave us all some candy floss and popcorn. It was brilliant and our children were all very brave. Especially Tristan who went on the biggest ride at the fair… a ride that made most of the adults queasy.

St. George’s Day.

26th April 2019Simon Hall

We would like to welcome everybody back after the Easter holidays.
We have had a very busy week in class 3A this week. We have been doing lots of activities about St. George’s day. We have been learning all about the story, acting it out, designing our own coats of arms, looking at sculptures and even doing a puppet show.

The children have all had a fantastic time exploring the topic of St. George… especially the dragon. We would also like to congratulate Kaleb for getting our certificate this week. He has been fantastic during all of our St. George activities and was an absolutely amazing dragon during our role play. Well done Kaleb!

We are happy to say that we are having a coffee afternoon on Wednesday 1st May. Parents are welcome to arrive from 13:00. We will be performing our play about the war during our coffee afternoon and we look forward to seeing everyone there.

Happy Easter Everyone!

5th April 2019Simon Hall

We have had an absolutely fantastic half term in 3A. We have done so many fun things, had lots of trips and explored various things both new and old. We have rounded this term off with a bang. We did plenty of dancing at our school Ceilidh on Wednesday, we had a little party for Lillie’s birthday today and we had a whole school Easter bonnet parade this afternoon. We won the prize for best group for our lamb themed hats.
Here are some of our favourite pictures from this half term.

We would like to wish Lillie a happy birthday and we would like to congratulate Anthony for getting our weekly certificate for trying so hard in our yoga session.

We hope that you all have an eggcellent Easter holiday and we look forward to seeing you all for the upcoming summer term.

Park Life.

29th March 2019Simon Hall

In addition to our visit to the farm yesterday morning we also had a walk through the woods. We saw some owl boxes and lots of bugs & insects.
We then went to a nearby park in Horsley. It was a lot of fun and the zip wire was fantastic.
We had our lunch in the local church hall and we played some fun party games afterwards. All in all we had an absolutely amazing day and we are so glad that the children enjoyed themselves.

We would like to congratulate Charlie D for getting our class certificate this week. He did a brilliant job on the farm. He loved seeing all of the animals and he was very good at feeding the lambs. Well done Charlie!

We would also like to say a big happy birthday to Ellen. We hope she has a wonderful birthday weekend and we look forward to seeing everybody next week for our last week of term before the Easter holidays & we wish you all a happy Mother’s day this Sunday.

Lots of Lambs!

28th March 2019Simon Hall

We had a lovely time during our trip to the farm today.
The children all had a lovely time seeing the animals. They even had a chance to feed the lambs. The lambs were very excited to be fed… we struggled to keep hold of the bottles.

Fun On The Farm.

22nd March 2019Simon Hall

This week on Wednesday we had a trip to Ouseburn farm. We all had a fantastic time. We helped feed the sheep and the chickens. We also helped to guide the sheep from their enclosure to their field. We learned about how people needed to grow their own vegetables to survive during the war and how they needed to make what they needed out of anything they could find. We even made our own plant pots out of newspaper and toilet rolls.

We would also like to say a big well done to T-Jay who earned our certificate this week. He was awarded it for being very helpful to his friends this week.

So Many Pasta-bilities…

15th March 2019Simon Hall

We have had a tortellini awesome week in 3A.
We started the week with our trip to see the Victoria Tunnel. On Wednesday our children made their own pasta. All of the children had a brilliant time doing it & I cannoli marvel at the terrific pasta that they produced. Tasting it was definitely the highlight of the day.
On Thursday we learned all about rationing. We were shocked at the amount of food a whole family had to survive for an entire week. It was absolutely pre-pasta-rous. Only being allowed one and a half sausages per week was particularly shocking!
Finally, on Friday we had red nose day. As a school we have raised lots of money for red nose day and we are all pleased that the children are enjoying the day so much.
We hope that all of you have a wonderful weekend and we look forward to seeing you next week.
Pasta-la-vista!

Tunnels & Trains.

15th March 2019Simon Hall

This week we had a fantastic trip out on Monday. We went to have a look around the Victoria Tunnel. We learned all about the war, what towns looked like back then, how to put on gas masks and of course all about the tunnels that people used to take shelter from the air raids.
We also took a trip on the train to get there and back which was very exciting.

It was a fantastic trip and all of our children had an absolutely wonderful time.
