This week we have been exploring all things sensory as well as working on our communication skills in rebound and hydro sessions.
Just a few pictures of all the fun we have been having in Foundation last week.
What an amazing week we have had with all of our sensory activities. We have had hydro therapy, rebound therapy and enjoyed a wonderful sensory story with exploration all about ‘Jack and the beanstalk’. We have been using our voices and communication aids to ask for ‘more’. There was some beautiful Intensive Interaction in 1:1 time and of course we have had lots of smiles
What a fabulous first 2 weeks we have had here in Foundation. We have been straight back into action with all of our physical activities, including swimming and rebound. We have had lots of fun making new friends and building lovely relationships. We had an amazing music session with Paddy, our music therapist, where we took great interest in the instruments and used different ways of communicating to gain attention and ask for ‘more’. Some of us have also been out to our local shops and cafe for some community engagement
This week we had some amazing interaction in our music sessions and were lucky enough to have Ellie’s mam, Jen, come into school to play the harp for us. We also had an emotional afternoon on Wednesday as we had a party to say goodbye and good luck to our wonderful teacher Nadia. We wish her all the luck in the world and will be keeping in touch with her. We hope you all have a wonderful summer holiday
Just look at all the fun we have had this week. On Monday we had a trip out to Blyth beach and park. Unfortunately the weather wasn’t great but we still had a lovely time. We have also worked really hard on all of our physical skills and done some amazing standing.
Well we have certainly made the most of this beautiful weather and have been taking our play and learning outside this week. We have been splashing in water, tickling our feet in sand and doing some amazing standing and walking, just look at those smiles
We had so much fun on our trip to Tynemouth Aquarium this week! We explored all areas of the aquarium linking to our topic this term of ‘Under the sea’. We started the day looking at all the different fish, experiencing the different lights and smells. We saw the turtles climbing up and down out of the water, the monkeys swinging on the rope as well as the seals swimming past us and even coming for a closer look. We even found the real Nemo and Dory! All the children we’re so engaged throughout the day and the weather even stayed nice for us! We enjoyed our dinner in the café and took a pit stop at the ice cream shop for everyone to have a try! Nutella ice cream was a great hit. We hope you enjoy our photos from our trip and we can’t wait to share more from our next trip!
What a fun and wonderful week we have had in school. We have worked so hard in everything we have been doing but especially in our physical and communication skills. We have been using our arms and legs to splash in the pool and our voices to ask for ‘more’ when on the trampoline. These sessions really help us to relax and that then give us much more opportunities throughout the day to enjoy our other activities. As the weather has been nice most days this week we have used the opportunity to get out and have a walk around the local area and to the cafe for some community engagement. We have also been spending lots of time in the outdoor areas of school and trying to bring a bit of the seaside to us. We hope you all have a lovely weekend and will see the children on Monday.
What a wonderful week we have had. We have been spending lots of time with our older friends in Shirley’s class. They have been sharing their toys with us and we have been joining in singing songs with them over the playtimes and lunchtimes. We have been making lots of new friends and building up special relationships with not only the children but also the grown up’s. This week we have also met the new music therapist, Paddy. He came with his guitar and some drums to start our music session’s again.
