After the long weekend we started our week off with a trip to the beach. We headed off to Whitley bay where we met the team from Beach Access North East and got to use their beach accessible buggy’s to collect resources for our sensory story. The children really enjoyed themselves and managed to stay dry which is more than we can say for some of the adults. After our beach picnic we went for a lovely walk and even popped into the skate park before setting off back to school.
What a great first full week back at school. All our children have settled back into class and we have had a lovely time being back with our friends. Our favorite activities this week have been Rebound Therapy, our new sensory story (Danny McGee drinks the sea), and soft play. Look how much fun we have had!

This week we had a wonderful Carnival.
The whole school joined together for a parade and to watch the Kevi steel band and Baque de Ogum marching band.
We all dressed up and danced the afternoon away with our friends from across the school.
What a fantastic afternoon it was.
Have a great weekend and we look forward to seeing the children for our final week of term.

This week our children have really enjoyed their therapies. From our hydrotherapy session to rebound therapy the children have worked extra hard this week.
We have also enjoy massage sessions, sensory story and body awareness to name but a few.
Some of our year 6 students visited their new school on Wednesday for lunch which I’m told was “yummy”.
Have a great weekend.

We started this week off with our class trip to the Tynemouth Aquarium, where we saw sharks, seals and many more creatures. The children had a fantastic day and so did the staff.
Later in the week, we had a very special visit to Grubbin’s Wood, a sensory theatre, where the children explored with mud, water, smells and textures. They met Fox, Mole, Mouse and Mr Grubbin and helped save Grubbin’s Wood. Hooray!
We hope you all have a great weekend.

This week we have been making the most of the lovely weather and getting outside as much as possible. The children have enjoyed time out with their friends from across the school, in the adventure playground, in the sun.
We hope you have a wonderful weekend and that the children are looking forward to our trip on Monday.

Welcome back to school for the summer term. On Monday the whole school celebrated the Queens Platinum Jubilee. In the morning, we went on a Jubilee themed trail and in the afternoon, the whole school had a Jubilee party outside in the sun. Also, this Thursday was Batten’s Awareness Day. To show our support for Nicole, the class wore orange, played with orange toys, and had an orange themed day!
Have a fabulous weekend, and we’ll see you all on Monday.
Even though it’s been a short half term, what a wonderful time the children have had! They have been very busy with their usual sensory curriculum, including their rebound therapy, hydrotherapy, and massage sessions with Zoe.
The whole school had a Ceilidh celebration and our children enjoyed lots of dancing and socialising with their friends across school. Also this week, we had a sensory art session using red, white, and blue paint, to make our Jubilee decorations for the Kings’ and Queens’ day when we come back to school.
We hope you all have a wonderful holiday and we look forward to seeing the children in the new term.
