We have had a lovely 4 days in school this week. We have had our usual hydrotherapy and rebound therapy, which the children thoroughly enjoyed. We had lots of smiles and the children were very relaxed. We have also had a lovely music session outside in the sunshine. The children were very vocal and engaged when playing with their instruments. Also this week, some of our children have been to the school barber shop, they have had a lovely haircut and nail pamper.
What a wonderful time we had last week at the fun fair. The sun was shining and the children and staff had the best time as did some of our parents who came to help us. We went on lots of different rides but our favourites were the tea cups and Disney cars. When it was time to go back to school we were given lots of popcorn and candyfloss. What a super day had by all and we would like to say a huge thank you to Nunsmoor fair and Northumbria police for all their support.
The last few days of term have been a busy time. As well as the usual therapies and learning sessions we have also enjoyed our Christmas lunch and Christmas party. We hope you enjoy looking at the photos!
We and wish you a happy, relaxing winter-break and Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all our families and friends.
We look forward to seeing you back at school on Wednesday 6th January

Christmas at Hadrian officially started this week with our Advent Assembly on 1st December followed by Christmas-themed fun and music in the yurt. We also started a special Christmas sensory story this week which the children have engaged with wonderfully. Other highlights have included rebound therapy and sensory circuits and hydrotherapy. We also enjoyed a birthday party for Bradley. Well done to Raphael and Bradley for being our special achievers this week!
A plea for next week – If possible could you send a white t-shirt / top in with your child on Monday for a special Christmas project we have planned!
I hope you enjoy the photos.
Have a great weekend!

It’s the week before Christmas celebrations start and it’s been a week of working hard and playing lots! Highlights have included messy-play, music, physical-skills in the sports-hall and our final ‘Where the Wild Things Are’ sensory story session. Well done to Asanosi for being our special achiever this week!
Have a great weekend!

Lots of fun has been had by all this week. As always, we’ve been busy keeping active during our weekly hydrotherapy, rebound therapy and PE sessions. We have been making the most of Emma’s skills as a qualified massage therapist to help guide our massage sessions with the children demonstrating really high levels of engagement in the sessions. We also enjoyed being outside for our music session during the milder weather at the start of the week and enjoyed a special performance of The Wizard of Oz in our sports hall on Thursday. Well done to Owen for being our special achiever this week!
Have a great weekend!

It’s been another busy week in our class! On Tuesday we had a special day to celebrate Diwali. This included lots of sensory activities in our Yurt such as music, exploration of lights and coloured fabric, massage and Indian food (cooked on the wood-burning stove). Wednesday was Armistice Day we had a special (virtual) Remembrance Assembly where we remembered all of those in our school community who are sadly no longer with us. As always, it was a very poignant and moving afternoon. On Friday we were celebrating and having fun on for Children in Need. Well done to Amy-Lou for being our special achiever this week!
I hope you enjoy looking at the photos from this week. Have a nice weekend!

What an exciting week we’ve had! We are getting into the rhythm of weekly hydrotherapy sessions now and nearly everyone got to enjoy time in the pool this week. We have also had lots of fun celebrating the seasons with bonfires, fireworks and sparklers as well as all of our usual favourite sensory and therapeutic activities.
Well done to Jack for being our special achiever this week!
In terms of staffing we sadly had to say goodbye to Alyson who has moved into another class. However, it’s a big welcome to Emma and Kat who have joined the staff team this week. The children have all enjoyed getting to know their new members of staff.
I hope you enjoy looking at the photos and have a nice weekend!
