What a lovely calm sensory exploration morning we had today. We had lots of fun with feathers, balloons and voiles. We also had an extra soft play session this afternoon which we loved especially moving around in the ball pool. We have been very lucky to have spent some extra time with our friend Issac from Coralie’s class.
What a lovely time we had on Friday afternoon helping Maria celebrate her 4th birthday. We had a fabulous party in the class with cake, balloons and music. We spent the afternoon dancing, listening to music and playing games with the balloons.
This week we had a visit from our friends TimberDash Theatre group with their new production of SkyBound. Timberdash is a multi-sensory production on the trampoline.
We were invited to ‘Skyla’s pyjama party’ where we met in a duvet den and were took on a journey into the clouds with our favourite teddy.
Timberdash allowed us to explore, engage, show curiosity and anticipation all whilst having a fun experience!
We were all in awe and amazement throughout the production. Our smiles, vocalisations and giggles said it all!
Have a lovely weekend!
Wow what a very busy week we have had. We had a visit from our friendly policeman. He came into school to talk to us about his job, show us his uniform, answer any questions we had and he even let us take a photo with him. Also this week we have been having fun playing with some of our friends from Dave’s class in the quad and Coralie’s class in Sensory Circuits. We were also lucky enough to get an extra long massage with Zoe and an extra swimming session on Friday morning. After all that hard work we really are ready for a rest over the weekend.
On Friday we had an amazing assembly for Chinese New Year. This year we are celebrating the year of the Rabbit 🐇. During our assembly we joined in with a dragon dance, had some Chinese food to smell or have a taste on our lips, watched a story all about why we celebrate Chinese New Year and we even learnt a new song.
Also this we week have been working really hard on our communication skills using lots of different activities and aids to help along the way.
Of course we have also taken advantage of the fact that we have had a bit of snow ❄️. We got wrapped up all cosy and warm and ventured out into the playground. Some of us rolled around and make snow angels while some of us felt the snow landing on our hands and faces.
Apologies for the lack of photos as we are having a few technical issues but hopefully this will be resolved soon. 😊
What a wonderful time we had on Thursday afternoon as we relaxed for our Spa and pamper session. We used oils and creams for hand and foot massages, dipped our toes into the foot spa, had a manicure bar with sparkly nail varnish and a hair dressing saloon. A definite favourite was the foot Spa as you can see by the smiles on our faces!
We would like to take this opportunity to say thank you for all the cards and gifts and to wish you all a very merry Christmas and a happy new year. We hope you all have a wonderful holiday and will see you back at school on the 9th January.
What a wonderful time we had today celebrating Christmas. We were lucky enough to have a visit from the Santa bus where we were all able to board and see the beautiful grotto that was there. Santa had a chat, gave us each a present before getting a photo with us. In the afternoon it was time for our Christmas party. We came into school all dressed up, played lots of party games, sang some songs, danced the afternoon away before Santa came into class to give us all a present. Wow how lucky are we!
Over the last few weeks we have been celebrating all things Christmas in class! We have been getting creative for our Christmas cards, enjoyed a Christmas disco and took part in a fundraising elf day where we enjoyed a sponsored bounce and dance as well as taking part in an Elf parade!
We also starred in the Nativity with Coralie’s class for our Christmas performance. We all looked amazing and loved the spotlight being on us!
Enjoy our photos!
June and Team
This week we have explored our new topic ‘Space’ through a multisensory exploration story. We travelled in our silver rocket ships and travelled to all the different planets. We passed through different temperatures and smells, bounced on the moon and saw flashing diamonds on our way! We absolutely loved exploring all the resources and can’t wait to travel back again next week!
As well as our new topic, we have continued working on our physical and communication skills through a range of different activities such as rebound therapy, hydrotherapy and working hard on supported sitting and standing.
We have also loved being back in soft play this week and having fun with our friends!
Hope you all have a lovely weekend!
What a wonderful week we have had! We have really been enjoying our autumn sensory story, using our hands to explore lots of different textures and smelling some freshly cut apples and spicy playdough. We have been lucky enough to sneak in some extra massage and rebound sessions along side our normal timetable. Intensive Interaction happens all day and every day and this brings so much more in the way of communication. We have also done some excellent standing managing to use our frames every day so lots of strong legs! Making relationships with the adults and our friends is very important to us so we like to have as much time as possible sharing our experiences in school we even have help from some of our older friends with this. We hope you all have a wonderful weekend.
