Hello everyone! We’ve had a great couple of weeks here in Class 12… we’ve made great progress in our reading and communication skills! We’ve also made great progress with 1:1 correspondence, numeral recognition, addition and subtraction in Maths! We also continue to make great progress in Rebound and Hydrotherapy as well as in our ‘Romans’ Topic and our work on ‘Forces’ in Science! Check out Episode 3 of our Blogcast here!

We also need to say a massive congratulations to our Half Term Achiever, Sophia! Sophia has made great progress in her engagement and focus. She has blossomed into a mature young lady and this was evident on her week long residential trip to Beadnell and at the Northern Stage while performing in King Lear! Well done Sophia, we are so proud of you! We will upload her presentation next week!

We’ve had a great couple of weeks here in Class 12! Don’t take our word for it though, check out Episode 2 of our Blogcast here!

We had a great time exploring push and pull forces in Science! We experimented with different examples such as our swings and roundabout in the adventure playground as well as balls, skipping ropes and boards… check it out below:

We also began our new topic, The Romans! We learned about four key features of Ancient Roman society: soldiers, the emperor, pots (to carry food and water) and Hadrian’s Wall which still exists today in our own backyard! We role-played an epic battle in a Roman arena and issued orders to our subjects as the emperor! Check out some photos below!

Our Year 6 children had their first official visit to Sir Charles Parsons for a swimming lesson this week – they had a great time and managed to show off how mature they can be when in the pool. Between all of that we even managed to have  a lovely party for our Mahnoor’s birthday! Take a look:

Hello everyone! After an incredible, fun and relaxing summer we are all SUPER excited to be back at school and get back to business! We have used these first few days to get reacquainted with each other and settle back in – we’ve all grown very tall over the holidays!

We also began learning about poetry this week – we introduced ourselves to this topic through body percussion and rhythmic chanting before performing our old favourite, ‘Splish, Splash, Splosh’ together. We’ve also dipped our toes into a bit of Maths work and a bit of Dodgeball before having a party for Marc’s birthday…

What an incredible year we’ve had here in Marc’s class! On behalf of the whole team I would like to say what an honour and privilege it has been teaching you all and watching you soar!

First of all we must say farewell to Yahya, who will be starting at his new school in September! All the best Yahya, we will miss you!

Secondly, we have had a lovely time at Tynemouth Aquarium this week – we met all manner of underwater creatures, watched the seal show and finished the trip with fish and chips! Delicious!

Lastly, congratulations everyone on all you have achieved this year! To our friends that are moving on to new teachers, we wish you the best of luck and we know you will continue to thrive! To those that are staying with us, we will see you in the Autumn Term!

We’ve had a fantastic Sports Week here in Marc’s class! We started the week with a spot of cross country running around our grounds:

Well done to our Half Term Achiever – Eyah! Eyah has made amazing progress in her communication skills – she is an absolute whizz when using her communication aid! Her confidence in all areas has soared and she gave an absolutely unforgettable performance in our production of ‘King Lear’! You can check out Eyah’s amazing achievements here!

We’ve had a fantastic first week back here in Marc’s class! You can check out photos from our Platinum Jubilee celebrations below! We started the day with a fashion show, showing off each of our amazing kingly and queenly outfits. We then joined in a royal parade with our friends from the rest of the school. That afternoon we enjoyed some live music and a buffet outside:

John visited us this week to see the hard work that we get up to in class. We showed him everything we knew about our topic, the rainforest, and showed off our amazing communication skills including asking questions, composing sentences and giving opinions!  Look out for our next Blogcast episode early next week for more info!
