News from Bubble 5

12th June 2020Scott Marshall

Week 1 in Bubble 5 has gone without a pop! We have bounced on the trampolines, climbed on the apparatus, completed circuits in P.E. and made aeroplanes in D.T. We have even celebrated Lewis’ birthday with a ‘Bubble Party’!

We’ve had a fun week being together so please check out what we’ve been up to!

Fishing In The Nile

13th March 2020Rachael Budden

We’ve had a brilliant week here in 6c – tell us all about it Brandon and Tasnya:

We completed our autobiographies this week – they look absolutely fantastic. We worked extremely hard, composing sentences, typing and choosing photos to use inside. Thank you so much for your cooperation with sending photos in from home for this project.

We continued our work on Ancient Egypt this week, learning all about how the Ancient Egyptians utilised the River Nile to grow crops and catch fish! We learned that the king of Egypt was known as a pharaoh and we had a turn at acting in this role, giving out orders and making demands!

We are looking forward to our trip to the Great North Museum on Monday (and McDonalds!). We would be extremely grateful of a £4 donation for bus fare and lunch.

Have a great weekend!

We thoroughly enjoyed creating mummies in Humanities:

We absolutely smashed the Boccia tournament at Walker Activity Dome:

Our Pancake Day assembly was hilarious (and delicious!):

And we had a fantastic World Book Day this year – check out our costumes below:

Have a great weekend!

Happy Valentine’s everyone! We have had a fantastic fortnight here in 6c – take it away Brandon:

We are making great progress in our English topic of autobiographies. We interviewed each other to learn information about our friends that they can use when they come to write our life stories. Take a look:

Our personalised weekly timetable books are coming along very nicely:

And finally, we have had a fantastic time celebrating Valentine’s Day, as Brandon has very eloquently explained:

Have a great weekend and a lovely half term!

Happy Chinese New Year everyone! We began the year of the rat in style – but don’t take our word for it:

We began our work on autobiographies this week. We learned that an autobiography is the life story of the person writing it – we read (and roleplayed) Marc’s autobiography and discussed the kind of events that are typically featured in a life story: childhood, school, family, work, hobbies and more. Take a look below:

As Brandon explained, our visit to the church was great. We enjoyed learning about the different areas of the church, listening to bible stories and having a go on the piano:

And finally, we must say a massive congratulations to our half-term achiever: Amelia!

Have a great weekend!

It’s been another fantastic week here in 6c! Between parties and poetry and rebound and reading, we’ve done it all! But don’t take our word for it, watch the first episode of our 6c blogcast below – take it away Brandon!

Rabbits Hop, Sparrows Fly

17th January 2020Marc Teasdale

It’s been a great first fortnight back, here in 6c! We have returned to school from the Christmas holidays with exceptional attitudes, an amazing work ethic and happy faces. We’ve begun the half-term by continuing our work on poetry. We dipped our toes into the world of rhythm before the holidays and we have now expanded our poetic knowledge by creating our own versions of the poem ‘Splish, Splash, Splosh’. After learning the rhythm and structure of the poem we were able to choose our own vocabulary to remix the poem in our own unique way – we also came up with some fantastic ideas of our own and the results were amazing! We can’t wait to perform our work during next week’s music lesson. Check out our creative process below:

The creativity doesn’t stop there – we’ve begun our new Art topic, ‘Drawing and Painting from Observation’, this week and we are off to a flying start. We began the topic by creating a painting of pieces of fruit, concentrating on the shape and colours we could see. The results were brilliant, as you can see below.

We have worked extremely hard during our ‘Quiet Time’ sessions this week. We have concentrated on reading and writing…

…speaking and listening…

…and so much more!

Everyone in 6c is making extremely good progress in every area – there is no stopping us!

Look out for our 6c ‘blogcast’ coming very soon…

Have a great weekend,

6c Team

Yuletide blog

20th December 2019Marc Teasdale

We’ve had a marvellous final fortnight of 2019 here in 6c! We thoroughly enjoyed putting together our Christmas hats…

Our Christmas lunch was top notch as always…

The KS2 Christmas party was amazing. We have some award winning dancers in our class (officially!)…

Our Christmas trip was absolutely fantastic and we are delighted with how our Christmas performance (‘Snow Place Like 6c’) turned out!

We hope everybody has a wonderful Christmas and all the best for 2020! Thank you to all the children and staff of 6c for such an amazing first term. Thank you again for every donation and gift that we have received.

Thanks,

6c team
