Wow what amazing fun we had this week when Santa drove his magical bus to school for a visit. While exploring the bus we met Santa, his reindeer and elf as well as getting a selection box, which will be sent home on the last week of school. We would like to say a huge thank you to Stagecoach buses and Blakelaw Social club for their support.
On Wednesday 27th November 2019, Mehvish, Phoebe, Sophia, Wiktoria, Alamin, Finley and Oliwier set off on the school minibus and travelled up to Alnwick Garden. We had packed the bus with buggies, snacks, changes of clothes, wellies, camera and packed lunches. Waiting to meet us when we arrived was Toni the Elf. She took us to the ‘Winter Bumpers’ Area – which was as much fun as it sounds!! We whizzed round and round, backwards and forwards – and bumped into each other lots of times while we were strapped safely with our classroom adult into a type of bumper car which had a big inflatable tyre around it – there were lots of shrieks of laughter!!
Then we followed our Elf along a path which led to…can you believe it – Santa’s Grotto!!! He was there, in a shiny red suit, big black boots and a great big white beard. We think he must be very clever because he had Christmas gifts for all of us. We each had our photo taken with him before we waved him goodbye.
By then we were ready for our lunch so we headed to the warm Pavilion Café. After we had eaten, Toni the Elf guided us to the ‘Winter Playground’ where we played in a sheltered area – in real snow!! All too soon though, it was time for us to get changed into warm, dry clothes and then have a look around the shop at all the bright, shiny, twinkling decorations before we had to get back into the minibus to travel back to school.
What a fabulous day!!
We had great fun making our fruit cakes for a special occasion that we are not suppose to mention until December the 1st!!! We mixed sugar and butter, added eggs, sieved flour then mixed in the fruit. Mmm they smelt and tasted delicious!
What a wonderful time we had helping Alamin celebrate his 5th birthday. We played ‘Pass the Parcel’, danced with some beautiful confetti balloons and shared some yummy party food. A big thank you to Alamin’s mum and dad for sending in lots of goodies and party bags for all his friends to share and take home.
We have had great fun all week getting ready for Children in Need. We made and iced some Pudsey buns, coloured in some Pudsey pictures and even got cuddles from the bear himself.
We had a wonderful time helping Wiktoria and Oliwier celebrate their 4th birthday by having a party in class. We played ‘Pass the ‘Parcel’, danced with balloons and shared some yummy chocolate cake.
After watching some amazing firework displays on our smart board we decided to make some pictures of our own. We used lots of brightly coloured paints and tea bags to do splats on black card which looked like fireworks.
On Monday we are going to have a special assembly for Remembrance Sunday so we made some beautiful poppies using bright and shiny red paper to take along to assembly with us.
What a wonderful way to end our first half term – M&M Theatre Productions came to school to perform Beauty and the Beast for us. This was paid for from the money that was kindly raised and donated to us from Concept – a great big thank you from all of us.

What great fun we’ve had this week looking at the story ‘The Gingerbread Man’. We have coloured in some pictures, used different coloured materials to stick on to pictures, made and iced our own Gingerbread Men biscuits which we then had for snack – they were yummy!.
