The festivities have started! This week we have had lots of wonderful and magical things going on in school to help our children really get in the festive spirit. The week started with our annual advent assembly on Monday, the children really enjoyed watching the Christmas tree lights being turned on by one of our year 6 pupils, Sophie. We were then really lucky and had a visit from Santa on his bus on Tuesday! Each child was given the gift of a selection box which was kindly donated by Blakelaw Social Club.
In English we have been reading ‘The Christmas Selfie Contest’ by Rosie Greening. The children really enjoyed the story and then going around school and taking their very own Christmas selfies.
Mark celebrated his 9th birthday on Wednesday; he brought in a yummy sponge cake to share with his friends.
On Thursday we were full of busy, the children enjoyed a fantastic story session with the amazing Chris Bostock as he took us on the journey and adventures of a little Possum. The children were engaged throughout and loved the idea of taking their very own starlight home with them. In the afternoon the children participated in Santa’s dance Workshop, they all learnt how to be the best Elf in the workshop to help Santa in his preparations for Christmas.
Tonight (Friday 6th) is Hadrian’s Christmas Fayre, everyone is welcome. It will be a lovely night with the chance of meeting Santa! Starting at 6pm until 8pm, hope to see you there.
