Our topic this term has been ‘ On The Farm’. We have been learning lots of interesting facts about where our food comes from, whether certain foods grow above or below the ground and which meats come from which animals.

We have looked at lots of different tools and machinery that gets used on the farm.

One of our favourite activities has been role play being vets learning to look after the animals health issues, and understanding how to keep them healthy. We have had our very own farm shop in class where we have took turns to shop or be the shop keeper, were we worked on our coin recognition and counting skills.

We have been using lots of fresh vegetable’s in our cookery lessons making lots of tasty dishes and learning how to prepare each one, onions were definitely the least favourite.

We were very lucky to visit Humbleswood farm which lets you have hands on experience of caring, feeding and cleaning the animals who live there, it was such an amazing place sadly the weather was not as kind to us and we had a fun but very wet and muddy day.
