Pen Portrait of Helen Wilson
Parent Governor

Hello, I’m Helen Wilson and I am a Parent Governor at Hadrian School.  I’m Mum to Erin who attends the school, and also to her older brother Jacob who attends Gosforth Junior High School.  Erin was a SWAN (Syndrome Without A Name) until recently but now has a diagnosis of Phelan McDermid Syndrome.

I’m a Chartered Accountant and I currently work for Newcastle United Newcastle Foundation, a charity which supports the local community using the power of football to encourage learning, support employability and promote healthy lifestyles that make a real difference to the lives of disadvantaged children, young people and families in our region.  I have also previously volunteered at Cauldwell Children and Smile for Life, the charity which runs the successful Café Beam in Gosforth, giving real life work experience and employability opportunities to young people with disabilities.

I was delighted to be appointed as a parent governor in March 2019 and become involved in the running of our wonderful school, supporting Chris and the Leadership Team.
