We are so excited to be back in school and to get straight in to a new routine with the class after a very long time off! It has been such uncertain times and we are sure all of you and the children are anxious about what school will be like now but please be assured we are doing our best to make sure it is as safe and as normal as possible for everyone. We will be using class Dojo for communication between home and school to minimise the amount of belongings that come in and out of school. Thank you to those parents who have already joined, please get in touch if you need any help to access or join our class.

This week has been fantastic for our first week in year 2. The children have been full of energy and it is so nice to see how happy and settled they already are in their new classroom with a new staff team. We have a new friend to Hadrian school called Libby. She has settled really well in her first week in year 2 and has already made some lovely friendships with the children in class.

We have been super busy and already done lots of amazing work, we have had a range of activities and lessons already in our first week and the children have engaged amazingly well. On Tuesday we spent some time getting to know eachother and getting used to our new environment. In the afternoon we went on a treasure hunt to find some cakes that had been taken by Jess. This was lots of fun and it gave us all a chance to familiarise ourselves again with the school grounds.

We did cooking on Wednesday morning, we made banana cakes. The children were fabulous at measuring out the ingredients and mixing them all together. We then taste tested the cakes for snack and they were a massive hit!

In Art we were busy doing painting and collage work to go on display on the birthday board. Thursday we had English, we were thinking back to what was used to make the banana cakes and constructing our own sentences to describe what we did. This was follwed by Maths where we were looking at the language ‘the same’ and finding objects around school that were the same as the pictures in our booklets. Thursday afternoon we enjoyed getting physical in Rebound. And we have finished off the week today with a whole school Zoom sing along and we will be having some choosing time this afternoon.
