This week has been such a busy, fun filled week. Along with lots of great work and behaviour, we have also had a birthday celebration!
We started of the week recapping telling time in Maths. Many of the children now have a good understanding of reading a digital clock to the o’clock and half past which is great! We continued our learning into our topic of space. We learnt that the earth is split into continents (with the help of a very catchy song) and our country is in Europe. The children could tell us lots of good facts and had a lot of great questions too.
In PE we have continued our work with Graeme on dodgeball and football. Everyone’s learning great skills such as dodging and dribbling. Within these sessions, everyone is showing us great teamwork and a positive attitude which is brilliant! We get to practice our skills on our Friday lunchtime when we have our football session with Graeme and Ellen’s class.
We have also continued our work on strangers. Everyone is showing a great understanding of ‘safe strangers’, knowing who is best to approach when they need help in the absence of any familiar adults. We also learnt how best to react if we are approached by a stranger. To solidify our learning, we re-enacted different scenarios where strangers approached the child and how the child should act. We definitely have some budding actors in the class and we all had such fun.
Friday has been spent celebrating pupil achievements in our second half term achievers assembly. After playtime and football, we had the best choice time yet! Every single child received all of their ticks for a full week. We are so proud of the great behaviour each and every child is demonstrating. Finally, to finish off the week we had a party to celebrate Rosie’s birthday! We played pass the parcel, along with party food and of course a beautiful cake (thank you Rosie’s family!). We hope she has a lovely day tomorrow for her 11th birthday.
Have a lovely weekend everyone.
