We have continued working hard on our story ‘Stick Man’ in English, this week we have focused on various points in the story and specifically who, what and where as well as looking at Stickman’s feelings throughout his journey. We practised making happy, sad, angry, excited and scared faces to show how we thought Stick Man might be feeling.
In Cookery we made our very own cheesy stickmen which the class absolutely loved, it didn’t take them long to demolish them all. All that hard worked of cutting, mixing and grating was definitely worth it as they went down a treat! We also worked together in Art to create a fantastic piece of Stick Man artwork which can be seen in our blog photos! We used lots of the materials that we had collected last week in Science to carefully make Stick Man and his Stick lady love alongside their three stick children.
In Maths we have continued to use our knowledge of numbers and even went on a hunt around our playground to see if we could count how many characters were on each hidden colour. We also continued to practise counting whilst playing shops as this is a huge hit with the children in class and they all love taking turns to be the shop keeper.
In Humanities we have started a new topic on transport. We had a look at some of the different types of transport including cars, trains, planes, bikes and diggers. We watched some clips on YouTube of our favourite transport vehicles and explored the toys in class. We then went and had a little trip to our Stagecoach bus on site and took turns at being the driver.
Another fantastic week and lots of lovely work, engagement and learning from all the children. We wish you all a fantastic weekend and look forward to another fun, busy week ahead.
