Wow, what a busy week we’ve had! As you can probably guess from the title of this blog, we’ve had an awful lot of incredible exploration and tonnes of fun here in Dave’s class this week.
Firstly, Gung hei fat choy or Happy Lunar New Year to all of our friends celebrating this weekend! Wishing you a happy, healthy and prosperous year of the Rabbit! We’ve spent time this week learning all about the origins of the Lunar New Year and working out our Chinese zodiac or ‘Shengxiao’ signs (an Ox is writing this blog!), exploring traditional Chinese art styles during our art lessons, and exploring lots of vibrant materials during our classroom play sessions. We’ve had a wonderful time discovering a new culture, and learning all about another special celebration.
We’ve have had great fun enjoying the first (and second!) snow falls of 2023. It’s was incredible to see the excitement and joy on our class’ faces, and we couldn’t resist bundling some of our braver pupil’s up to enjoy the weather, just look at how happy those faces are!
We explored our vegetables in cookery on Wednesday with carrots, broccoli, and mushrooms all being on the menu. We chopped and grated, squashed and squeezed, and some of us even had a little nibble! We had a lot of fun, and showed great levels of engagement and curiosity.
Our weekly trip to Space and beyond went without a hitch on Thursday, we all loved exploring the lights in particular this week which was aided by the gloomy, dark day outside!
We hope everyone has a lovely weekend, see you on Monday everyone! – Dave and team 🙂
