Hi everyone,
Well, what a great day we had at Beamish, even if it was wet and windy. We started our morning with a walk down the Pitt Cottages where we met the fab Christine. She invited us in to her lovely home and even put the fire on. She had her Christmas tree up and decorations. We spilt into two groups, one group went into the bedroom and played with the old wooden toys, while another group made a thaumatrope (a piece of paper with drawings on either side that you flip). Then we swapped. The children were so well behaved and engaged it was a pleasure to watch.
After lots of playing, we explored the school. It was nothing like Hadrian! The children all sat in rows and had to do lots of writing. This was hungry work, therefore, we decided we needed some chips!
After dinner, we had a trip into town. Mason M commented “this bus looks like a train and I have never been on this bus before’. The children loved exploring the sweet shop and bakery before we enjoyed a lovely bus trip home.
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend,
Jess, Michele, Kairen, Katherine and Sharon
Looks like everyone had a lovely time! Those fish and chips look amazing. And trust Sophia, looks like she’s trying to break into the Chocolate cabinet xxx
