This week, Class 5 has been up to all sorts of things!

We continued to do English work for ‘The Linking Project’ visit in January. For this, we had to write a bit of information about ourselves to send to our friends at Belford Primary School. It was quite tricky thinking of words to describe what we looked like and what we were like as a person, but we all got there in the end.

As part of our RE and food technology, we tasted some Indian food. On the menu was: aloo saag, Bombay potatoes, garlic and coriander naan bread, onion bhajis, vegetable samosas and poppadoms – and they all went down a treat! Even the pickiest eaters enjoyed this activity and discovered that they liked several of the Indian foods.

Some of the class attended the Wanderer’s 10-pin bowling competition in Sunderland on Tuesday this week. We were real kingpins, with two of the children managing to get strikes! Most importantly, everyone had lots of fun doing something which was, for a lot of us, a new experience.

In design and technology, our topic is bread making. This week, we baked a banana and chocolate chip loaf. Everyone contributed to the baking process, measuring flour, mashing bananas, adding butter, stirring, etc. In the end, we made a very delicious loaf which we ate during afternoon snack.
