This week we started to get ready for Christmas! We decorated our Christmas tree, had a visit from Santa on a bus and had our Christmas trip to Adventurelands. We all loved running around Soft Play and had lots of fun! We have also been rehearsing hard for our Christmas performance next Friday.

This week we worked very hard in PE! Our topic is gymnastics and we have been learning about different ways to travel on the floor. This week we stepped up the difficulty and introduced some low apparatus. Everyone was able to take what they had learned on the floor and transfer it to the apparatus really well!

In outdoor learning we looked at trees and their bark. We did some rubbings of the bark to see the patterns they left.

In science we did some fab role play based around looking after ourselves. We washed, cleaned clothes and brushed teeth and had lots of fun while doing so!

This week we have been doing lots of fun Children in Need activities. We have made Pudsey biscuits, made a class mascot, participated in a colouring competition, did an obstacle course AND had a special assembly! Thanks to everybody that sent in money.

This week we also made poppies as it was our special remembrance assembly. We learned about poppies and why we wear them and also had a one minute silence in class to remember our friends who have sadly died.

We have had a fun week back after half term. We got straight back into our topics, learning about textiles in art, reviewing the letter sounds we learned in literacy and exploring musical instruments. Everyone came back eager to learn and full of smiles. Have a lovely weekend.

This week we worked really well together painting a train for our class. In our communication session we learned lots of important signs and vocabulary around visiting the Dr. We used some of these signs and words with some role play. In maths we continued to work on big and small by looking around the school for as many big and small things as we could find and in outdoor learning we explored the autumn leaves.

This week we have been doing lots of outdoor learning. In our communication sessions we learned lots of autumn signs and vocabulary. Some of the signs we learned include ‘tree, leaf, orange, brown, cold’. We have also been working outside using water to paint with different brushes and rollers.

This week in cookery we made some fruit kebabs. We had to work really hard, cutting the fruit into small pieces and threading it onto skewers. We also participated in our harvest festival bread bake off by making a delicious cheesy garlic bread. We didn’t win, but we certainly enjoyed eating the bread for our snack!

We continued working with numbers in maths and in our signing group we learned signs related to trains. We learned the signs for ‘train, ticket, yes, help, stop’. We used these signs while exploring train toys.

Sofia received a certificate in assembly for her excellent walking progress. Look at her go!

We’ve had another hard working week in class 2!

In English we have been learning lots of different letter sounds. We followed a trail around school and found lots of ‘s’ and ‘a’ pictures. We were really excited to find them! We have also been using drums to copy and follow different rhythms, helping us to discriminate a range of sounds. As well as this, we also work hard each week on our reading and writing using our reading folders.

In numeracy we have been developing our number skills through building towers and following recipes, counting out the correct amounts.

In science we continued looking at changing materials. We made cornflour gloop, exploring the dry and wet stages. Some of us loved the different textures, but some of us were more reluctant to explore with our hands.

We have also worked really hard this week in the rebound centre as well as horse riding. Sehrish received a medal in assembly for her fantastic riding skills!

This week we have been working really hard! We have been learning different letter sounds to help us with our reading. This week we did some good work on the ‘s’ sound. In numeracy we have been working on our counting targets. We are making great progress already! Some of us have been exploring lots of different environments, we are showing lots of good exploration skills and interest in the environment around us.
