World Book Day!

8th March 2019Simon Hall

We have had a lot of fun in class 3a this week. The highlight of which was definitely world book day. We did so many fun book related activities and even did our big robot performance in the world book day assembly. The children all had a truly fantastic day.

This Friday we also had our half term achiever assembly. We would like to say a big well done to Perrylee who earned our achiever for the last half term. He earned it for always being happy in everything he does, being fantastically curious during our science lessons and most importantly… for using his big voice to let us know what he thinks about anything and everything. We areĀ very proud of him.

We look forward to seeing everybody on Monday for our trip to the Victoria Tunnel.

Glad To Be Back!

1st March 2019Simon Hall

We have had a delightful first week back at school. All of the children have been full of smiles and we have really enjoyed all the activities that we have been up to. We have made banana cakes, been swimming at Byker andĀ started our new topic of teeth and healthy eating. We have also began to learn all aboutĀ the warĀ and we have also been bouncing in the rebound centre.

In addition to all of these fun activities we have also had a party to celebrate Kaitlin’s birthday. We all wish Kaitlin a big happy birthday and hope she enjoys it.

This Friday we had an assembly to celebrate the life of Warsame, who sadly died during half term. He was one of our year 6 children and a truly lovely young man. We wish his family all the best at this time.

Bouncing and a Birthday!

15th February 2019Simon Hall

We have had a very fun final week here in 3A.
On Monday it was Charlie’s birthday so we had a party.

We did lots of Valentine’s day activities early in the week to prepare for the big day on Thursday. On Valentine’s day some of our children got to go on the trampolines in our rebound centre and they all did fantastic.

We would also like to congratulate Charlie L for getting our certificate this week. He earned the certificate by being incredibly polite at all times, but particularly during our coffee afternoon where he went around and introduced himself to various parents as they arrived.
Well done Charlie!

We would like to wish you all a fantastic half term and we look forward to seeing everybody upon our return.

Chinese New Year!

8th February 2019Simon Hall

We have had a lovely week in 3A learning about Chinese new year. We had a fantastic assembly in which some of our year 6 children did a dragon dance. We learned that it is the year of the pig and we had lots of fun learning how to use chopsticks.

We would also like to say congratulations to Tristan who got a certificate and a medal in assembly today for doing absolutely fantastic writing all week and working very hard in his phonics lessons.

Well Done Kaleb!

1st February 2019Simon Hall

We would like to say a big well done to Kaleb who got our half term achiever award today.
Kaleb always tries his best at everything he does. He is fantastic with his numbers and his writing skills have really grown. He absorbs knowledge at an astonishing rate and is always amazing at reminding the staff what we have been learning about. His determination and confidence have grown so much over the last half term and we are all very proud of him.

Well done Kaleb!

Little Scientists!

28th January 2019Simon Hall

Hello everyone. We hope that you all had a wonderful weekend.
Last week we had a push & pull theme in our science lessons. We spent a lot of time investigating objects that we push and pull as well as some that give us the option of both. We found lots of items around school such as a shopping trolley, body boards, chairs, various toys, ropes and doors. Our children even labelled whether items required us to push or pull.

We apologise for the delay in this blog, we had some technical issues on Friday and were unable to blog.

Cooking Up A Storm!

18th January 2019Simon Hall

We have had a very busy week in 3A this week. We have continued to work on our robot topic. We have made robots out of different shapes and we have read some new books about robots.
We have also been to Byker pool, done lots of work on our fine motor skillsĀ and also learned all about our bodies in our PSHCE lessons.
On Wednesday we all had a great time in cookery. We made our very own quiches. The children really enjoyed making them and had an even better time eating them.

We would also like to congratulate Adam for earning our achiever certificate this week for doing so well on his first trip to Byker pool. This week we also had a party for Kaleb’s birthday. So a big well done to Adam and a happy birthday to Kaleb.

We hope you all have a wonderful weekend and we look forward to seeing everyone next week.

Welcome Back Everyone!

11th January 2019Simon Hall

Welcome back everyone. We hope that you have all had a lovely holiday.
We have had some changes in our class since last term. Ellen has returned from her maternity leave and is now our class teacher four days per week. Sue is continuing to teach on Fridays. So a big thank you to June for covering the first term.

We would also like to say a big welcome back to Ellen!
Ellen has really enjoyed her first week back and she looks forward to getting to know all of our lovely friends in 3A.

In other news, we have had a great week back in 3A. We have started our new topic of robots and we have been doing lots of robot themed activities. We have been making robot biscuits, reading robot books as well asĀ designing and making our own robots out of cardboard boxes.

This week we also had a trip to Byker pool. The children really enjoyed it and we would like to say a big well done to Muhammed Raza. He had never been in a pool before and although he was nervous initially, he found his confidence and he really enjoyed himself. Due to this Muhammed Raza got a certificate and a medal in assembly today.

We have got an extra slot at Byker pool, so we will now be going to Byker pool every Thursday until the end of term.

We hope that you all have a wonderful weekend and we look forward to seeing the children next week.
