We have had some amazing fun during our sensory sessions. We have been looking at and exploring with lights while tracking and asking for ‘more’. We also went for a walk through our Christmas market where we wrapped up warm, saw some twinkling lights, smelt mulled wine (non alcoholic), and tasted some melted chocolate and fudge. We have also been enjoying our rebound and hydro sessions as well as spending time in our standers and walkers.
Finally we have our class blog up and running so here are a few photo’s of some of the lovely activities we do each week.
Over the last term we have enjoyed and worked hard at our physical skills, including Rebound Therapy, Hydro Therapy, using standing frames as well as benches and corner seats to sit on during our class activities. We have also really been engaged in our Sensory Stories all about autumn, Halloween and bonfire night. We have had great fun in messy play using lots of different media to explore and of course make a great big mess!. We have made some wonderful relationships not only with our classmates but also with the adults in class and this have led to some amazing communication and Intensive Interaction. 😊
Wow what a fantastic last week we have had! Monday through to Wednesday we were luck enough to have the most amazing music festival in school. We started the week off with a whole school sing-along followed by some fun during the Holi festival, where there was lots of powder paint and sensory activities to explore. On Tuesday we had lots of different musicians come to school and we got to experience so many different genres of music and explore lots of instruments. In the afternoon we had a brilliant Brazilian parade around the school followed by dancing and steel pan drums. On Wednesday we danced the morning away in our ceilidh, which was also a lovely way to say goodbye to our wonderful Coralie. The music festival ended with a disco hosted by teacher Phil and his band. On Thursday it was our Leaver’s Assembly and there wasn’t a dry eye in the house. We have had a wonderful, exciting and very busy year. It has been an absolute pleasure to be a part of these wonderful children’s journey and hope you all have a fabulous summer holiday. 😊
This week has definitely been packed full of fun. We’ve had Rebound and Hydro therapy. Massage with Zoe, Music therapy with Afra, lots of different sensory stories and sensory fun. Made loads of mess with paint while making sunflowers. Explored some of our outdoor areas (especially the quad), had great fun with the bubble machines and of course squeezed in lots of physio, Intensive Interaction and cuddles. We also helped Mrs Ball (June) celebrate her 60th birthday by having a party in class. We hope you all have a wonderful weekend 😊
What an amazing and busy week we have had. We’ve enjoyed sensory drama, sensory stories, Rebound and Hydro Therapy, massage with Zoe, Music Therapy with Afra, Soft Play as well as all of our normal daily activities. Of course we have also made the most of the beautiful weather and sunshine by spending time in all of the wonderful outdoor areas we have in school. We have also enjoyed some water play on our balcony and listened to songs about the water and the seaside 😊
What a wonderful trip out we had on Monday. We packed our sun cream, sun glasses, buckets and spades then took the mini bus down to Blyth beach. The weather was beautiful with just enough cloud covering to cool us down. We all sat on the sand and dipped our toes in a bucket full of sea water, it was just a little bit chilly! After a play on the beach we had a lovely walk around the park and along the sea front before it was time to come back to school 😊
What a fabulous afternoon we had on Tuesday when we helped Maya celebrate her 4th birthday. We had a disco in the class, danced with the grown up’s, played with balloons and pom-pom’s and Maya blew out her candles on her birthday cake 🎂.
What a fabulous afternoon we had celebrating with the whole school for the King’s coronation👑. We all got dressed up, made and wore tiaras or crowns, had a parade around school and then went to the disco.
We hope you all have a lovely bank holiday weekend and will see the children on Tuesday 😊
So today we were meant to go to the Fun Fair at Nuns Moor but as always the weather got in the way! This morning the sky turned dark, the clouds came over and sure enough the rain came down. We might not have been able to get to the fair but we decided to bring the fair to us instead. Look at all the wonderful rides we made in our classroom.
What a fantastic first week back we have had. It has, as always, been full of fun. We have enjoyed Rebound, Hydro and music Therapy. Used lots of different communication aids to help us ask for ‘more’ as well as using some very big voices to let the adults know we wanted a turn. We have spent lots of time exploring sensory and cause and effect toys. Had some sensory stories all about jungle animals and of course had lots of Intensive Interaction and cuddles. Also this week we have welcomed a new friend Isam into our class and a new member of staff, Catherine, we are so pleased to have them both with us.
