New Beginnings!

23rd July 2021Rachael Budden

What an amazing year it’s been! Each and every one of our children have absolutely soared this year and we could not be prouder of each of them! To our Year 5 friends, best of luck in your new classes! To our Year 6 friends… our loss is truly Sir Charles Parsons’ gain! We wish everyone nothing but the best in the future! Follow the links below to watch our ‘end of year’ blogcast and Shakespeare performance!

Have a wonderful summer and stay safe!

Our week: The Yurt Edition

13th November 2020Rachael Budden

We spent a fantastic Thursday in the yurt this week! By the warmth of the fire we each performed our versions of the poem, ‘Splish Splash Splosh’. We used the drum to create rhythm and it made for some truly memorable performances! We also flexed our dramatic muscles when we retold the story of ‘Hoot Owl’ using different actions and sound effects to represent each character. We also used our tremendous recall skills to discuss what we have been up to this week and record our voices for this week’s Blogcast (this can be found on our Class Dojo!) We finished off the day with a delicious hot chocolate. Not a bad way to spend a Thursday! Take a look at what we got up to below:

Have a great weekend!

Now… where were we?

16th October 2020Rachael Budden

Well what a fortnight it’s been! Although we’ve spent a little bit of time at home, we have plenty of good news to share. Take it away, Bailey!

Blogcast Season 2: The 5/6a Edition

25th September 2020Rachael Budden

We’ve had a great week here in 5/6a! We are extremely excited to present the second season of our class Blogcast. A very big well done to our presenter Bailey who will take you through some of the things we’ve been up to during our first three weeks back at school. Take it away, Bailey!

We’ve worked extremely hard with our 1:1 correspondence, numeral recognition and adding up this week…

…and we’ve made great progress in our Phonics and Communication sessions!

Well done everyone!

Have a great weekend,

Marc and 5/6a team

The Return

18th September 2020Rachael Budden

Hello everyone! It’s great to be back at school! We have (and will continue to) keep each other safe and we’ve also had a lot of fun while working extremely hard during our first two weeks back at school. Let’s take a look at what we’ve been getting up to.

We all had a great time getting to know each other in style:

We’ve been flexing our dramatic muscles ahead of our Shakespeare Schools Foundation project (details to follow in the coming weeks). Take a look at our incredible rendered facial expressions portraying happiness…

sadness…

anger…

and fear!

We’ve made a great start with our counting activities – we are true mathemagicians here in 5/6a!

We even moved on to adding up:

…and opened a café!

We’ve also found time to create some fabulous collage pieces in our Art lessons:

We can’t wait to see what the rest of the year has in store! Well done on an amazing first fortnight back 5/6a! We will be sending our new Class Dojo details soon and look out for our ‘Blogcast’ season 2, premiering in the next couple of weeks!

Have a great weekend everyone!

Marc and 5/6a team

Farewell Bubble 5!

17th July 2020Scott Marshall

Week 6

Where have these past 6 weeks gone!

From start to finish it has been an absolute pleasure to have spent this time with our Bubble 5 team. We have shared fun, laughter, gardening tips, recipes and adventures!

We wish our children and their families a safe and happy summer break.

To our Year 6 leavers… you have been amazing! We wish you good luck for the future and look forward to hearing about your successes.

Best wishes from Bubble 5!

Colleen, Kairen, Phil and Ann

Here are a few memories from Week 6!

Bubble 5 / Week 5

13th July 2020Scott Marshall

Unfortunately, due to our recycled plants not thriving, we have had to make some changes to our tepee flora. Our newly gained gardening skills have been put into action again and we have planted yet more Clematis to cover the structure.

In Science we looked at changes and had a go at making our own butter. We also observed what happened to eggs when they were heated up.

In art, some of our Bubble created wood pieces to hang and others created protective coverings to keep out the rain.

Take a look!

Week 4 with Bubble 5

3rd July 2020Scott Marshall

Take a look at what we got up to this week!

See who you can spot in the Caterpillar Garden and find out who was caught snoozing!

Check out our fabulous puppet show performed by Bubble 5 members. All creatures great and small were created by the children themselves.

Hope you all have a lovely weekend!

Bubble 5’s Weekly Update

26th June 2020Scott Marshall

Week 3

Another busy week in Bubble 5. We made stick names on Monday and planted more flowers in the Wildlife Garden. On Wednesday we challenged ourselves in the Sports Hall to beat our ‘personal bests’! It was great fun and we all managed to improve our scores.

We had ‘perfect pizzas’ on Friday creating our very own specialities. They were absolutely delicious. Thank you Irene for cooking them for us!

We hope everyone has a lovely weekend!

Bubble 5: ‘The Gardeners’

19th June 2020Scott Marshall

Week 2

We have all developed green fingers in Bubble 5 this week. Not only have we planted climbing flowers and vegetable plants, we’ve even made our very own teepee!

We ate our homemade sandwiches in the ‘yurt’! They were delicious!

We blew bubbles in the Caterpillar Garden and they travelled for miles! We have collected twigs to paint in preparation for our colourful hearts. They will be hanging in the trees next week!

Take a look at our activities!
