A Spooky Spectacular week!

22nd October 2021Nadia Motie

We have had a fantastic week in class! We have loved getting involved with the competitions held throughout school this week.

We especially loved getting messy during art to design our own pumpkins!

We have continued with our autumn sensory exploration this week and particularly enjoyed the autumn leaves falling on our faces and listening to the ‘rain’ hitting our umbrellas!

We have also been working very hard on our physical skills in class, we have used our standers, walking frames, supported sitting with an adult and independent exploration throughout the day. We have also enjoyed some relaxing times too; massage, spa afternoons and relaxing in our new class hammock!

We have worked so hard this week, we have finished our first half term with a spooky sensory spa and a class party!

Hope you all have a lovely half term holiday and we look forward to seeing you all back on Monday 1st November!

An army truck came to school!

21st October 2021Nadia Motie

Last week we had a surprise visit from Soldiers and an Army Truck came to school!

We loved sitting inside, trying on their helmets and especially loved making lots of noise beeping the horn!

Harvest around The World!

21st October 2021Nadia Motie

We all celebrated Harvest Festival at Hadrian School. Each class chose a different country to celebrate and learn about. We chose to explore Indonesia. We have been doing Indonesian themed activities to celebrate! We loved exploring the rice, relaxing during an Indonesian spa whilst listening to traditional Indonesian Music. Children from each class made a different dish from around the world and presented it in assembly. We had great fun making traditional Klepon cakes made with rice flour and we made a lovely video to share with our friends in school assembly! Check out our class video here!

Getting to know you!

28th September 2021Nadia Motie

The Thrive approach runs throughout our whole school day in our class and is embedded into all of our teaching and learning. The first few weeks of settling into a new class and for some children a new school are crucial in terms of  building strong and trusting relationships with staff. With strong relationships we lay the foundations for making outstanding progress in all areas of learning. Our class have been working hard on getting to know each other and spending a lot of time calming and soothing, co-exploring and engaging in intensive interaction and some lovely relationships and bonds are already developing!

Hi all,

Welcome to our class! We have had such a lovely time getting to know our new children over the last few weeks and they have settled fantastically into their new class! We have been enjoying sensory exploration, music, circle time, jabadao, rebound therapy, water play and music therapy.

We have also been exploring the school grounds and finding out about all of our outdoor areas as part of our Autumn themed Art and Messy play exploration sessions!

A trip to the Seaside!

7th May 2021Nadia Motie

On Tuesday we enjoyed our rebound therapy session, the children worked really hard on their communication skills, using their big voices to ask for ‘more’ on the trampoline. We have also spent lots of time playing and exploring in the outdoor areas at school this week. We started our new topic under the sea, which involves multisensory exploring. On Wednesday we continued this theme and took the children to the seaside with an edible messy play session. They used their fine and gross motor skills to explore all the different textures and flavours.

We hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Fun in the Sun

22nd April 2021Nadia Motie

This week in Nadia’s class, we have been making the most of the fabulous weather. The children have all enjoyed splashing about and get soaking wet during our water exploration sessions. We have also really enjoyed using the early years playground, especially using the swings and roundabout.  We have used this opportunity to work extra hard on our communication skills to ask for ‘more’ of our favorite activities.

Fun in the snow and Chinese New Year!

26th February 2021Nadia Motie

Hello!

We absolutely LOVED playing in the snow when it arrived! Our favourite part was sledging down the Caterpillar Garden hill and also bringing the snow into class to explore as part of our messy play!

We have also been celebrating Chinese New Year in class, we explored Chinese food, traditional Chinese outfits and listened to Chinese music. It was great fun!
