It’s Christmas

18th December 2020Scott Marshall

Dear Parents/Carers

Christmas has well and truly came to our class this week. We have included a few extra photos to show what fun we have had eating of Christmas dinners and partying on the bus this afternoon. It has been an unusual celebration but the children have took it in their strides. We have all really enjoyed the last few days and hopefully next year we can all celebrate together. Just another quick reminder Tuesday will be the last day of term have a lovely weekend.

Thank you

Scott, Abbie, Andy, Ann, Jen

We have also enjoyed a Hanukah party this afternoon and earlier in the week we had great fun making Challah bread. Next Thursday we will be having our Christmas dinner and on Friday afternoon we are having our Christmas party. Have a lovely weekend.

Dear Parents/Carers

This week we have enjoyed the Clet Abrahams street art exhibition in the caterpillar garden. The children enjoyed seeing other classes work alongside their own.  We have also started a cross country running club in the wildlife garden with the aim of increasing our stamina and fitness.  Next week we will be looking forward to the Advent assembly and celebrating the run up to Christmas. Have a lovely weekend.

Dear Parent/Carers

This week the high light has to be another wonderful day in the yurt. We made a chick pea madras on the wood burner and the kids were very brave in trying the spicy curry. We also had enjoyed a relaxing mediation session in the afternoon. Monday football sessions with Graeme are also a firm favourite and Graeme is very impressed with how well the children are listening and how their skills are progressing. We have also been chosen as the Hadrian School litter picking squad for a month. Have a lovely weekend.

Dear Parents/Carers,

What a week we have had! We had a lovely time yesterday in the yurt. It was our first go at having this wonderful outdoor facility and we made the most of it. We made cabbage soup on the fire and had a wonderful Halloween party in the afternoon.  We have also had a socially distanced harvest assembly. On Tuesday we took part in some performance art and photography for Black History Month in the style of Travis Alabanza’s shoe BURGERZ! Many thanks to those who sent in donations.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your support over this half term. It has been very stressful for all of us with everything that has been going on! However, the children have shown their resilience and how much they love being at school. Please pass on any information as soon as possible if you or your children become COVID symptomatic or, if you have to isolate over the half term. This will enable us and school to plan accordingly. You can message me on Dojo or you can use the school text back service. There will also be emergency contact numbers left on the school answer phones.

We are looking forward to a short rest and then getting straight back into work. Before you know it Christmas will be here! Have a lovely holiday.

Thank you

Scott, Ann, Abbie, Andy, Jen

Dear Parents/Carers

This week has been fantastic. We have enjoyed making our own slime and spending as much time as possible in the great outdoors. Making meals in the mud kitchen was great fun especially with the heavy rain in the mix. The children had a fantastic time. The children were also very engaged in printing using leaves, twigs and other items we collected last week. Celebrating ‘Black History Month’ we have taking part in some African style drumming and next week will be partaking in some performance art in the style of Travis Alabanza. We also are very lucky to have the Yurt on Thursday where will be having a Halloween party in the afternoon please feel free to send a costume in for your child to be changed into. Have a lovely weekend.

Thank you

Dear Parents/Carers

The weeks are beginning to fly over and we have had another busy week her in Class 4/5. Our favourite lessons this week have been combing maths and PE to have a very active counting session. The children loved finding materials outdoors to combine with our play dough that we made in science. The children also loved sharing in front of an audience what they had found especially when they had a few creepy crawlies hiding in their finds.

Next week we will be starting to celebrate Black History month where will be exploring African food in cookery. It is also World Mental Health Day next Saturday so on Friday afternoon we will be having some different special wellbeing activities. If you would like to take part as a family on Saturday I will send a link home on Class Dojo that has some activities.

We have also welcomed a new friend into our class as well as a new adult. We have had our first socially distanced assembly this morning through zoom. Have a lovely weekend.
