What an amazing second half of the term we’ve had! Before we get into any of the incredible fun we’ve had over the Christmas period, we must make special mention of the end of our ‘Space’ topic! Not only did we have a brilliant time at the Centre for Life, but we also put together our very own outer space experience. We powered through ‘Astronaut Bootcamp’ before taking flight to the moon in our rocket ship – during the journey we moved around without gravity and we marveled at the constellations in the sky (which we made ourselves and projected onto the wall!) When we arrived on the moon we explored to our heart’s content and even met an alien before returning to Hadrian School in our rocket. Blogcast – Episode 4

We have all loved the run up to Christmas! We loved meeting Santa on the ‘Santa Bus’ and had a great time visiting ‘Winter Wonderscape’ at the Metro Centre. We sang our hearts out at our Christmas Carol Service, had an amazing time at our Chistmas party and performed an absolutely magical re-telling of Raymond Briggs’ ‘The Bear’ as part of our live Christmas show. We told the story of an adventurous polar bear (played by Sehrish) who followed a bird out of her bear cave and ended up running afoul of a group of fishermen. She ended up at the zoo where she met the little girl and her parents (played by Sophia, James and Sofia respectively). As luck would have it she manages to escape the zoo and make it to the little girl’s house where they have lots of fun and dance to their favourite music. Although the bear is happy to have met the little girl she misses the bear cave and follows the stars to get home – this part of our performance was partially accompanied by Sofia playing ‘Carol of the Bells’ on the piano… absolutely amazing stuff! You can check out our Christmas activities in the photos below as well as in episode 5 of our Blogcast (where you can also see part of our Christmas performance!)
