We have had a lovely day outdoors today, we have spent all day exploring different outdoor environments. We started this morning thinking about what sorts of things we needed to keep ourselves dry when outdoors and carefully selected the correct items of clothing that would help us do this. Waterproof trousers, raincoats and wellies at the ready!

We also thought about the kinds of drinks that would help us to stay warm and made some yummy hot chocolate to take with us, not forgetting some delicious chocolate biscuits to have for snack.

We then headed outdoors to the caterpillar garden and set up two tents. The children really listened well to the instructions from the adults and worked in two teams to put the tents up correctly. It was then all about exploring what it felt like to be inside the tent and listening carefully to the noises around us. We enjoyed our delicious hot chocolate and biscuits to keep us going until dinnertime.

This afternoon the children also got to go into the mud kitchen, this was thoroughly enjoyed by all, using the water, mud and pots and pans to make lots of fabulous concoctions. It was very messy but so much fun!
