This week we began our world book week with our usual morning carousel. We then started our new topic in PSHE all around going to the shops and reading shopping lists. We had a close look at different types of shopping lists and watched an episode of Peppa going to the shops. We then had to read our own shopping lists and find the correct items to stick into our baskets. Next week we shall be going down to the shops to buy our ingredients for our food tech lesson.

On Wednesday, we all enjoyed a lovely concert with the rest of our friends in the hall. There was plenty of singing and dancing and the band playing were amazing! In the afternoon we started our new topic of the outback and we made some lovely Koala bear masks, as we are reading the story of the koala who could.

On Thursday we had world book day. We all came into school dressed as different characters from our favorite stories. In the morning we were super lucky to have a dance session with Jo, from Dance rocks. We followed this with a visit from the zoo lab. We got to meet a big African snail, a snake, a cockroach and even a tarantula. We were all so incredibly brave and managed to have a feel and even hold the animals.

In the afternoon a group of us went down to Kirklee hall RDA to begin our riding lessons that we are fortunate enough to have till the end of the year. We were all so amazing with our horses and were able to listen and follow instructions well. The other group stayed at school and we enjoyed a lovely world book day assembly. We even got to watch the Masked story teller!

On Friday, we had our usual certificate assembly. This week Leighton won a certificate for his increased independence when completing a set task. He is also becoming more independent when zipping up his coat. This is something he has been practicing for a while. In the afternoon, we headed down to the food tech room to finish off the last of our world book week activities. We made some Teddy bear’s porridge and some lovely cupcakes.

We hope you all have a lovely weekend and stay safe.
