Another Busy Week!

1st October 2021June Ball

What a great week we have had. As part of our work on “It’s Good to be Me!”  we are finding out about what our children like and don’t like. We did some wonderful foot printing and washed off in hot water tubs!

We are becoming more adventurous in Jabadao. We got out the climbing apparatus which the children began to explore. This week they may want to explore it further. There were some lovely interactions too.

We have been working on our Recycling Project. We used boxes and paint and then used the finished project in different ways outside. x

We are going to have a display in school of all of the different projects.

Getting to know you!

28th September 2021Nadia Motie

The Thrive approach runs throughout our whole school day in our class and is embedded into all of our teaching and learning. The first few weeks of settling into a new class and for some children a new school are crucial in terms of  building strong and trusting relationships with staff. With strong relationships we lay the foundations for making outstanding progress in all areas of learning. Our class have been working hard on getting to know each other and spending a lot of time calming and soothing, co-exploring and engaging in intensive interaction and some lovely relationships and bonds are already developing!

It’s Good To Be Me!

28th September 2021Nadia Motie

Hi all,

Welcome to our class! We have had such a lovely time getting to know our new children over the last few weeks and they have settled fantastically into their new class! We have been enjoying sensory exploration, music, circle time, jabadao, rebound therapy, water play and music therapy.

We have also been exploring the school grounds and finding out about all of our outdoor areas as part of our Autumn themed Art and Messy play exploration sessions!

Fun, Fun, Fun.

24th September 2021June Ball

Well what a busy but very exciting week we have had!

We did some fantastic moving and dancing during our P.E lesson and introduced the rebound centre to some of our new friends to have some time on the trampolines. Of course we had to made the most of the beautiful sunshine and had lots of fun while doing outdoor learning. We were also lucky enough to have an amazing outdoor music concert this week which everyone really enjoyed and you should have seen the dance moves the children showed us – they were fabulous.

We hope you all have a wonderful weekend and will see the children on Monday.

Welcome to Our Class Blog

18th September 2021June Ball

Hello and welcome to our first Class Blog. It’s so good to be back and to welcome new children to Hadrian School. We’ve had a great few days back, settling in and making new friends. We are busy finalising the Timetable and will send it out to you very soon. However, we’ve wasted no time in getting stuck in and already have had Jabadao, Rebound, PE, Art, Sensory Play, Communication/letters and Sounds groups, Maths/Early Numeracy group, Food Technology and loads of other things too. We are concentrating on building relationships with each other and also finding out about what the children like, (and don’t like!) to do.

Our Project this Half Term is “It’s Good to be Me!” so we would love you to send in photographs of your child at home with family members and doing things they like to do at home. You can send them in on the Class Dojo or by  email.

Here are some photographs from the last week and a half.

Oops we’re having difficulties getting the photographs in. As soon as we can, we’ll get them on. You can also head over to our Class Dojo where you’ll find photos on our Class Story.

Wow, can’t believe we have made it to the end of this year! It has been such a tough year for so many reasons but your gorgeous children have brightened up each day and kept us smiling! We have had a lovely last half term in the sun and have really enjoyed the last few weeks with lots of water play, outdoor learning and movement based fun!

We hope you all have a fantastic holiday and we wish all of our lovely children all the best in their new classes!

Life is Good in Our Class!

17th July 2021June Ball

It was so good to be back in school after our 10 days isolation. We know not everyone could be back with us and we were thinking of those at home. We did Zoom our Circle times so our children at home could join us.

We decided this week to do lots of activities to help us to feel good about the world. We had water play on Wednesday, The Hydro Pool on Thursday and a wonderful pamper Afternoon on Friday. We also celebrated how well our children have coped with the changes at assembly on Friday morning. Everyone got a certificate and some bubbles. Well done to Sophia too who got a certificate and medal for all of the sports she did at home during Sports Week.

We can’t believe it’s our last week next week! We’re going to have a sporty week with our own mini Olympics.

Take care everyone.

Year 3 Team. X

“Marhaba” from The United Arab Emirates!

3rd July 2021June Ball

We are very excited to be representing The United Arab Emirates next week during Sports Week. We chose this country as it was the first country we visited for our “Holidays” theme according to Mason! We are so excited to all be wearing a T shirt with the flag of the UAE on it. A shout out to Paula in Dave’s class for kindly printing them for us.

We have begun to learn all about the country and what a fascinating country it is, especially Dubai with its amazing buildings, Palm Island and beautiful beaches. We have listened to the National Anthem, made flags, listened to some children’s songs in Arabic and explored Belly Dancing. We have so much more planned for next week and that’s not including all of the wonderful sports activities planned. We will be getting involved in Cricket, Dodgeball, Paralympics, Table Top Sports, Welly Wanging, Wheelchair Races, Bikes and Orienteering. Wow! What a week it will be.

We also said a sad “Goodbye” to our Snails which we have been looking after for a couple of weeks. We have learnt so much about them and they have enjoyed staying in our Snail Hotel so much so that three of them have had babies! We set them all free in the Caterpillar garden and we were delighted that every child in the class felt confident and happy to pick one up and let it go. We will check on the babies from time to time.

And finally, a little peek at our new Holiday Display in the making. It’s fabulous!

Another brilliant week. We look forward to sharing next week with you.

Babs, June and the Team.

All Kinds of Everything!

19th June 2021June Ball

What a great week we’ve had getting involved in lots of different activities including plenty of outdoor learning opportunities.

We had a super day in the Yurt on Monday. Sue expertly showed us how to make a fire.( not a firelighter in sight!) After she’d built a roaring fire we made scrambled eggs on top of the wood burner which we ate with toast. Delicious!

After our snack we made lots of footprints in the paint with wellies. We needed these for our special treasure hunt in the afternoon. As well as it being great fun, it was also part of our work on “Measures” in Maths.

In the afternoon we used the footprints to lead us to treasure! We hope the dads/special people/heros in our children’s lives enjoyed the beautiful rocks we sent home.

We continue to learn about plants. The children are becoming familiar with what plants need to survive. One group worked on the plant labels and another group learnt more about the Brussel sprouts that we planted. They are growing so well but unfortunately something is eating them! We tried to guess what it might be including squirrels, slugs, snails but we think it might be caterpillars.

We’ve been celebrating lots of Birthdays this month which we’ve put on Class Dojo for you to enjoy. We also celebrated Leni’s Half Term Achiever on Friday. Very well done Leni. We are all so proud of you.

Babs, June and the Team.

The summer fun has begun!

11th June 2021June Ball

We had a fantastic afternoon of fun on Thursday. Some of us soaked up the sun in waterplay outside while the rest of us got lost in a world of imaginative play in soft play.

In soft play we set up our own train and went for a ride around the country. Thank goodness our train driver James was there to make sure the train had enough coal. The passengers had tickets and everyone was in the right seat. We then had a wonderful role play of Goldilocks and The Three Bears, with Daddy bear, Mammy bear and a very convincing Baby Bear. (Go Sehrish!) We were all so immersed in our story and it was great to see everyone getting lost in the world of imagination. It was also a great opportunity to work on physical skills and get our bodies moving.

  • “Someone has eaten my porridge!”

  • The three bears fast asleep!

While this was going on, the rest of us were having just as much fun in waterplay! We got our swimming costumes on and took full advantage of the glorious weather we have been having. We had paddling pools, squirty bottles and even had a bouncy castle! With water fights, imaginary plants to water and Mason washing the car just like his Dad.  It was a wonderful afternoon.
