We started our Arts Award project this week by visiting The Baltic! We had a fantastic time, every child was engaged in their environment, taking in all of the different sights, sounds and textures. We loved going up and down in the lift and before we left we visited the viewing gallery and had a lovely view of The Quayside. We experienced lots of different art exhibitions and we also visited their sensory room which everybody loved! After lunch, because it was such a nice day, we stopped off at Heaton Park on the way home! A great day was had by all!
We were very lucky in school last week to have a visit from the lovely Bare Toed Dance Company! They were with us for three days and we had a fantastic time! We attended three workshops and two performances. We all had a go on the aerial swing, the trapeze and explored lots of bright and colourful materials. We also really enjoyed listening to the guitar and the drums! It was a fantastic experience and we are so pleased we got the chance to take part! Thank you Bare Toed Dance Company!
We have had a lovely couple of weeks here in Nadia’s Class but a particular highlight was World Book Day! It was fantastic to see the whole school dressed up in some brilliant costumes, representing a huge variety of story characters! Even some of the teachers were unrecognisable! We were lucky enough to have a session with Zoo Lab in the morning, we were introduced to lots of little critters and really enjoyed getting up close and exploring! Then in the afternoon, we had a great World Book Day Assembly with the theme of ‘We are going on a Bear Hunt’! We really enjoyed year 6’s interpretation of the story and then we also had a catwalk to show off all of our costumes!
Hope you enjoy our photos! Have a great weekend!
Hello everyone!
We loved having a fun day in the snow last week! We made the most of the sensory experience and wrapped up warm to explore the lovely snow that had fallen in our playground!
We have also been enjoying time in the sensory room for intensive interaction and we have had some lovely music sessions over the last week!
Enjoy!
Hello!
We have been having lots of fun in Nadia’s Class over the last couple of weeks! Here is a snapshot of what we have been getting up to! We have particularly enjoyed a visit from Bamboozle theatre company, a trip to Newburn park, messy play, music and our sensory stories!
Hello all and Happy New Year!
We wish you all a happy and healthy 2019!
We have had a lovely first week back, we were so excited to see all our little ones on the first day and they seemed very happy to see everyone too! We have enjoyed outdoor learning, sensory songs, music therapy, sensory circuits, a thrive session, hydrotherapy, rebound therapy, community engagement and much more!
With all the festive excitement of the last week of term we didn’t get a chance to share some of our lovely Christmas photos with you so we thought we would pop them on here for you to have a little look! Enjoy and have a great weekend!
Merry Christmas everyone!
We have had an absolutely fantastic time in 3A this week. On Monday some of us went singing at Ferguson Lodge. On Wednesday we had a shopping trip to LIDL to get all of our supplies for our coffee afternoon. The coffee afternoon was lovely and it was great meeting some of our parents. On Thursday we had our big Christmas party. We played a lot of fun Christmas games, had a big disco and a visit from Santa. The children have all had a wonderful week and we hope you all have a lovely Christmas holiday.
Here are some pictures of our children enjoying the events of their Christmas party.
Hello and welcome to another blog! Just a quick note to talk about our trip to Fergusson Lodge this afternoon where we went singing for the residents. I can’t tell you how proud I am of all the children who came with us as they were an absolute credit to our school! From the moment they walked in they were engaging and talking with the residents who absolutely loved it and their day was truly made.
The children were of course brilliant when they were singing and gave a magnificent performance of some Hadrian classics and some well know Christmas songs! Well done to all our wonderful children and we look forward to our next visit sometime in the new year.
Thanks for reading!
Phil, June and Rachael!
Hello!
As promised here our some of our photos from Hall Hill Farm! We had a fantastic time at their Christmas event, we were greeted by our lovely friendly Elf (Dee) who looked after us very well all day! First we visited the rabbits and all had a chance to hold/stroke them, then we went to feed some sheep and goats! After that we visited the talking Reindeer and Santa’s Grotto! Santa had a chat to each of us about what we wanted for Christmas and everyone got an early Christmas gift! In the afternoon we had our lunch, played in the huge softplay area then had a tractor ride around the farm! A great day was had by all! Thanks Hall Hill Farm!
We had a wonderful time trying on our costumes and having a dress rehearsal for our Christmas show tomorrow. Parents and families are welcome to come and watch our Christmas show. It starts at 9:30 tomorrow (The 14th December).
We look forward to seeing you there.
