St Patrick’s Day!

19th March 2021Rachael Budden

We have had a great week in class 6!

On Wednesday we celebrated St Patrick’s Day by doing lots of Irish dancing, watching our St Patrick’s Day Assembly and dressing up in green! In preparation for St Patrick’s Day, we made some hats in the Yurt on Monday! Our hats were so good, WE WON THE HAT COMPETETION!!

In Maths, some of the class are learning about 1 less or 1 more and had lots of fun playing hook a duck to guess the next number.

In PSHE we have been learning all about differences and that it is our differences that makes us unique.

A busy week in class 6

12th March 2021Rachael Budden

We have had such a busy week in class 6!

We have been working so hard in Math’s learning all about time and one more and one less! Everyone has been working so hard and our Mathmagician this week was Lillie and T-Jay!

We have also been making our Mothers Day cards this week, they look amazing!

In Science we have been learning all about different micro-organisms. We have been experimenting with bread which had different substances on them( water, salt, sugar and oil). We left the bread in a cupboard for two weeks and wrote up our results to see how much mould had grown. The results were so interesting!

World Book Day Week!

5th March 2021Rachael Budden

We have had such a busy week! On Thursday, it was World Book Day and we all came in dressed as story characters. We have had a busy week preparing for the day!

In Food Tech we followed recipes to make some Goldilocks and the Three Bears Porridge, as well as Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’s Hot Chocolate. It was so yummy!

In school we were so lucky to get a zoom session with Dance Rox! Dance Rox taught us lots of dance moves to some of our favourite story books and songs. We all loved learning the moves, even the grown ups!

In the World Book Day assembly, we had our very own Masked Storyteller! Some of our Hadrian grown ups were masked and we had to guess which grown up it was when they read

us a story.

We are Illustrators!

26th February 2021Rachael Budden

This week we have had such a fun week!

On Monday we went to the Yurt to play lots of games and ate yummy pancakes! We had so much fun flipping our own pancakes!!

On Thursday we were so lucky to have a workshop with the author Morag Hood. She answered all our questions we had for her, and even taught us how to do some of her illustrations! We drew our very own characters from Morag’s story Spaghetti Hunters which will go up on on a display in school.

We have had such a good week!

A very busy week!

12th February 2021Rachael Budden

This week we have been so busy, but we have had so much fun!

We started the week by making our very own death masks in Humanities just like the Ancient Egyptians, they look so cool!

Some children created their own book cover for the book Spider School they have been reading in Guided Reading, they’re even better than the original!!

We were so lucky that we had lots of snow to play in! We had so much fun and even the adults joined in the fun!

In Art and Design, we made Valentines Day cards for those we love and appreciate. They looked so great, we even handed some out in school to our friends.

What a busy week!

15th January 2021Rachael Budden

We have had such a busy week this week! We have been learning about Ancient Egyptians in Humanities this week and we have had so much fun! In Food Technology we made some yummy Egyptian bread and in Humanities we wrote our names in hieroglyphics!

As well as learning all about the Egyptians, we have been completing our daily mile which both the children and adults love to do. This week we have completed 5 miles!! This is the link if you would like to try it at home.(  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X7OzRLb2aKY )

In Science we have been learning about germs and how easily they can spread.  Here is the link to the video we watched in class on how germs spread, if you wish to watch the video at home https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ghLkwSlWSXw.

As a class, we created our very own “Hands, Face, Space” poster to display around the school to make sure all our friends know how to stay safe.
