On Tuesday we were lucky enough to be able to watch a magic show. Magic Andrew came into our ‘Always Good Assembly’ as a special treat to show us some of his special tricks, he even brought his beautiful rabbit along for us to see.

What great fun we’ve had this week exploring the story of ‘Mrs Wishy Washy’ and her farm animals. We especially liked the pig so decided to make some cakes that we could decorate to look like pigs. We used pink icing, marshmallows and chocolate buttons to make the faces. They were very yummy and we even had enough to take one home to share with our families.
We had great fun this week celebrating Chinese New Year. We made some beautiful glittery lanterns and had some noodles, prawn crackers and fortune cookies for snacks. We went to a special assembly where we watched a play about why the years are named after animals, learnt to count from 1 to 5 in Chinese and listened to a Chinese song about going to school, we even had a visit from a dragon!!!
As you all know we lost our little star Aaron this week but we wanted to share our memories of our wonderful little friend and think of all the happy days we spent together.
This morning in assembly the whole school sang to Aaron ‘This Little Light of Mine’ as we watched beautiful photographs of him swimming, playing, laughing and having fun.
We will always keep a light shining for Aaron and his memory will never fade in school.
Our love and best wishes go to his mam, dad and sister Georgia and to all who’s lives he touched.
He certainly touched our lives but we are comforted by the knowledge that we made every day of his all too short life count.
We had a wonderful time celebrating Aaron’s 5th birthday by having a party.
We played ‘Pass the Parcel’, danced with ribbons and pom poms and shared some lovely party food.
First of all – may we say a great big ‘Thank You’ to the families who treated us so kindly over the festive period with cards, gifts, good wishes and party food! We’re really very grateful.
To start a new calendar year our topic is ‘Favourite Things’. We’ll be exploring this through the stories of ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’, ‘Handa’s Surprise’, ‘Walking through the Jungle’, ‘Rumble in the Jungle’, ‘Old MacDonald’s Farm’ and ‘Mrs Wishy Washy’.
Already we’ve had great fun making big and small caterpillars with different green media.
What a wonderful time we had helping Ella celebrate her 5th birthday. We played ‘Pass the Parcel’, danced with balloons and shared some yummy party food.
Wow, what amazing fun we had on Wednesday for our EYFS Christmas party! We played lots of party games including ‘Pass the Parcel’, Musical Spots and Christmas Corners. We danced to music, sang songs round the Christmas tree and had a special visit from Santa who brought us all a wonderful gift – how lucky were we!!
After all that fun we were ever so hungry and really enjoyed all the lovely food that our families had sent in to make our party complete – thank you very much!

We would like to say a huge thank you to Chaplin’s Theatre Company for a wonderful production of Beauty and the Beast. They amazed us with their beautiful costumes, fantastic acting and singing. We would also like to say a big thank you to Blakelaw Social Club who’s kind fundraising paid for this treat.
What a wonderful treat we had when Chris Bostock the Storyteller came into school to tell us a story about the adventures of a baby possum. He used lots of different, brightly coloured props, sang a song and gave us all starlight to hold in our hands.
