We would like to say a big hello to our two newest members of the class, welcome to Tilly and Tom, our Build-A-Bear Workshop teddies. Not only did we have great fun making them last week on our trip out but we also had a wonderful time in class dressing them and choosing their names. Tilly and Tom spend all day helping us learn from our play.
What a wonderful day we have had at the Metrocentre. We started our day by taking a train ride, waving at the shoppers as we passed them. After a quick refreshment stop we made our way to the Build-A-Bear Workshop. There was lots of different types of soft toys to choose from but we eventually decided upon one cream and one brown bear for the classroom. We all got a chance to stuff and put a heart into each bear before choosing a school uniform for them. We haven’t chosen any names yet but will update you when we do. After that we were all hungry so headed off to McDonalds for our lunch which we all enjoyed. As we had a bit of time left over before the bus came back for us, we had a chance to visit the small Soft Play area at the Antiques Village. Wow what a busy but fun day we had.
WOW, what an amazing performance we watched this morning when Bare Toed came in to school. They did acrobatic tricks and gave us a comedy performance with giant flies!!! We were all mesmerized by their wonderful skills and talent.
We had a wonderful afternoon taking part in an EYFS introduction to play at Walker Dome. Along with 7 other primary schools we joined in with parachute games, relay races, bean bag balancing, balloon tennis and dancing – phew we were tired but it was great fun.
What wonderful fun we had this week exploring our new topic ‘The 3 Little Pigs’. We made 3 houses out of straw, sticks and bricks, we decorated pigs and a wolf as well as making pink pig cakes for our snack.
What a wonderful treat we had this afternoon when Image Musical Theatre came in to school. They gave us a fabulous performance of ‘The Selfish Giant’, weren’t we lucky.
We celebrated World Book Day by dressing up, having a visit from ZooLab, who told us a story and showed us a tortoise, a tarantula, a snake, a snail, a frog and a rat, we also had a special assembly with a parade.
We had a wonderful time helping Kian celebrate his 5th birthday by having a party. We played ‘pass the parcel’, danced with balloons and shared some delicious food and cake.
What lovely weather we have had this week. Now that we have a lovely new sunshade, we have taken every opportunity to take our play and learning outside. What fun we have had.
We would like to say a huge thank you to school for our new waterproof sunshade in the Early Years playground. This will give us the opportunity to spend more time outdoors come rain or shine.
Hope you all have a wonderful half term.
