It’s our favourite time of year again!  This week at school, Christmas countdown began with our wonderful advent assembly.  We introduced Christmas with lots of lovely carol singing before a beautiful reminder of where Christmas began.  We watched as children from around school place Kings, Shepard’s, Mary, Joseph and baby Jesus in our annual nativity story.  We also switched on the Christmas tree lights.  We were honoured to have the eldest child in school switch on the lights.  Our Jacob did a beautiful job, watched on zoom by his proud family.  Every class in school switched on their class lights at the same time to send a lovely Christmas celebration around school.

The Christmas theme was also very prominent in our classroom and play space.  These photos show just how much we’ve enjoyed our first week of Christmas exploration….

A huge thank you to everyone who donated Christmas lights to school.  Andy, our site manager, has used ever last one to create a wonderful Outdoor light display for everyone to enjoy!! Every child in school will get the opportunity to spend some time outdoors enjoying the colourful display.  We are still spending lots of time outside, learning and playing in the fresh air.  Watch this space for pictures of our light display on the run up to Christmas.

Our  new sensory story also shared the Christmas theme.  We had such a giggle introducing children to Norbert The Green Nose Reindeer.  Here is a copy of the sensory story, with the words for you all to try at home.

Finally, we have also spent time this week decorating and making hearts in class.  This is to add to the school collection of love and well wishes to send to the local elderly residential homes.  We know how hard times are for everyone this year and wanted to share some of the mountains of love we have at Hadrian School with our local community.

I hope you all follow our Friends Of Hadrian Facebook page.  We have shared a special Christmas story on their involving our amazing school dog, Alfie.

Have a super weekend everyone. Stay safe

xx
