Hi everyone,

HUGE welcome back to Loveday’s class blog.  Throughout this academic year ahead we will keep you posted about what we’re getting up to in class, school events and special days in this weekly blog.  After a VERY LONG and uncertain summer, our team were so pleased to welcome our class of 20/21.  We have in class back 9 children and 5 adults.

Let me first of all introduce you to our class team.  Our class teacher Loveday is supported by Toni, Amy, Theresa and Clare.  We all worked with Leen, Jacob, Aaron, Fatima, Daniel, Lacey and Yahya last year.  This year we have been joined by our new friends Basheer and Conlan.   All of the adults in class have seen or been with these children in a range of contexts in school before therefore look forward to having them in our class.

It’s great to hear from so many of our parents already using the new DOJO diary system.  We will be using this system daily to keep parents informed of our daily events in replacement of our daily paper diaries.  Any support needed to access the DOJO, don’t hesitate to contact us.

When we collected everyone on Tuesday morning and were greeted with lots of happy faces.  Not a single child unsettled or unhappy.  Everyone excited to be back at school and raring to explore.

On Wednesday we explored a range of outdoor areas around school, seeing which areas we could have the most fun.  We found fun in all areas, from stomping games on our outdoor decking to making outdoor recipes in our mud kitchen.  We also loved exploring our new yurt.  We can see this being a lovely area for future massage sessions in class.

Thursday began with Jabadao.  For those of you unfamiliar with Jabadao, it is a child led progressive movement session.  We have fun in a big wide space filled with activities to encourage movement.  From body boards to slides and bench apparatus.

Friday we spent enjoying a zoom music assembly before our Friday fire pit.  Songs around an outdoor fire was so much fun.  We ended the week with sensory massage to chill for the weekend ahead.
