What a lovely week class 3/4 have had to finish off a very busy 8 week half term! The children have continued to work fantastically; they have stayed engaged in their lessons despite the excitement of next week’s holiday and Halloween fast approaching.
This week we have finished our work in English on the story of Stick Man. We have also been reading some spooky stories keeping in the theme of Halloween, the class particularly enjoyed reading Funny Bones – The Ghost Train with the lights down low and the use of a torch. In phonics we have been using our listening and looking skills to match various animals on the farm to the pictures.
In Art we have been making lots of pictures using lines and shapes to create some bright and beautiful artwork. We also collected some leaves and used them to print with the paint.
We have also been up to lots of Halloween activities including carving our class pumpkin, using the inside of it to make pumpkin curry and nan bread, decorating spooky biscuits and of course dressing up and having a Halloween party.
We hope you all have a well-deserved rest over the next week and look forward to seeing everyone bright-eyed and bushy-tailed back in school on Monday 4th November.
