We are down to the last half term of this academic year. How did that happen? Lots of fun activities planned. We have our year 6 activity week in the throws of planning at the minute. Lets make our last few weeks together special.
Shakespeare in schools has been a project our school has been involved in for a few years now. Usually our children perform among other schools on the Northern Stage. So much hard work and preparation goes on behind the scenes to allow each child to shine in our performance. This year had to be different, for obvious reasons. Covid got in the way of the ‘usual’ format. Nobody knew how this years would look or if would even happen. The decision was taken to produce a Shakepeare performance in film format. Today we invited some special guests to join our school in seeing the final edition. Well…..there was not a dry eye in the school. Our children performed a range of Shakespeare stories called ‘Shakespeare Hindsight 2020’. It was the most moving performance to date. Every single class in school allowed each of their children to shine. I can not express how wonderful it was for us all to watch from the safety of our bubbles. We look forward to sharing with you all on the school website and social media very soon. Unfortunately we can not share any photographs from today as we do not want to spoil the surprise.
This week we enjoyed lots of Outdoor Play. Here are some photo’s of our children having fun in the sun.
This half term’s exploration is based around light. Following last half terms ropes and string exploration, we decided based on the likes of the children we should explore light. Using torches, disco lights, switches and lots more children used their hands, communicated preferences and consolidated relationships with peers and adults in class. Here are some photos of our session.
We hope you all have a fabulous weekend. Stay safe
