This week we have been practicing a lot for our sports week that is happening next week. We are so excited for the last few weeks, as we have so much planned!
On Monday we set up a carousel of different activities and we got practicing at a range of different skills such as, Hurdles, javelin, balancing on different equipment and balancing balls on tennis rackets.
We also went back to Sir Charles Parsons for our swimming lessons. We have really enjoyed our lessons here and this week we put all our skills to the test that we have learnt throughout the year. We have grown in such confidence this year in and around the pool. We are now able to move across the pool in different ways with confidence, put our faces in the water, push off from the wall on our backs and some of us have even managed to start swimming independently with floats.
On Thursday our Year 6’s went for their final transition visit to their new school. They met their new teachers and were able to experience a dinner and play time with all their new friends. Although they are so excited to move onto their new school, we will miss them loads!
While our Year 6’s were out at their new school, the rest of us spent the afternoon with the rest of the Year 6’s and we did some more sports day practice. We practiced our javelin throwing once again and made it into a fun competition. We also worked greatly on our Gross-motor skills by balancing on different equipment and moving across it in different ways.
We hope you all have a lovely weekend and stay safe.
