Last week in Class 1a the children were busy working on their preparations for the St Patrick’s Day Assembly this week! They have been making costumes and learning songs and dances in collaboration with Scott’s class Year 6! More pictures from that to follow next week!
They still found time to work on their English and this week they have been concentrating on consolidating learning on the letter sounds they have worked on this term s,a,t and p! They also practiced their prewriting skills using ziplock bags filled with paint taped to tables. This was fun, and mess free!!!
In Maths this week they used spinners to find and identify Numicon plates buried in sand as well as Numicon Bingo and using play dough to make Numicon indentations.
After playtime every afternoon the children in 1a have been practicing being calm and building focus for the afternoon session in our Zen Den. They are learning to be quiet and ‘just be’ for a few minutes per day. You might like to try this at home! They practiced this on their trip to the library where they listened to some lovely stories.
Have a lovely week! Check back next week for our St Patrick’s Day fun!
