Dia Dhuit (Hello in Irish) and a Happy belated St Patrick’s Day!!!
We were so busy celebrating yesterday we forgot to blog! We joined with Scott’s class to hold our annual St Patrick’s Day assembly (virtually of course) and it was a huge success! The children worked really hard on their Irish Dancing as usual and they created a performance to remember! I wish I could post it but the file is too big! I will look into getting this to everyone, it’s unmissable! We had dancing leprechauns and a very funny version of Irish Idol and Scott’s class made a fab video of the story of St Patrick complete with very funny out takes!!
The children have also been working on some other treats this week such as Shamrocks painted with fizzy paint in Science. The bicarbonate of Soda mixed in the paint made lots of bubbles when we dropped vinegar on them! So much fun. And of course they were working on their contribution to the St Patrick’s Day hat competition. Our class hat was made from mod roc which is just like plaster of paris. The children LOVED using this and smoothing it on when wet. The next day they all worked together to paint their creation and add decoration.
Emma modelled it beautifully!
As well as wearing green to school and drinking green milkshakes they also had a special St Patrick’s Day breakfast of green scrambled eggs and potato bread. A fab week had by all!
May the luck of the Irish be with you!
