This week has been World Book Week in school and it has ended with an excellent World Book Day! The children in class have been listening to and getting involved in some lovely Sensory stories this week. They have been reading the story ‘Spots’. A large package arrived in class filled with spots of all different colours, shapes and sizes for the children to explore. We had lots of fun thinking about what could be inside the package! In the afternoon the children mixed lots of different paint spots with water in Science to see what would happen. They used powder paint, acrylic paint and oil paints. Some of the spots turned into splats! And the children got VERY messy!
We also read a traditional fairytale this week ‘Goldilocks and the Three Bears’. The children used the props to act out the story and in the afternoon the used hot and cold, smooth and lumpy porridge for Sensory play. Again they got VERY messy!! But thoroughly enjoyed it!
On World Book Day Rachael organised a Dance Rox session linked to familiar stories for the children and they had lots of fun doing it! It was so uplifting and energising. In the afternoon there was a fantastic World Book Day Assembly as usual and lots of lovely costumes.
Another fantastic week and next week we are expecting all our class friends back at school on Monday!
