Hi everyone, happy Friday! One more week until our first half-term break of the year, how quickly has that time gone!
We’ve had a typically busy week here in Dave’s class, and despite being hit with the first sickness bug of the year, we’ve managed to pack this week choc-full of play, communication and exploration. We hope all of our friends who have been under the weather this week are feeling better, and we can’t wait to see you on Monday!
Our school-wide Harvest festival celebration took place on Wednesday; we were given the brief of cooking a food that represented the heritage of our class and so we chose to make an Italian focaccia bread to represent our lovely Divine! We all rolled our sleeves up and got stuck straight in to the baking, with everyone loving the chance to mix, kneed, roll and prove to our heart’s content. Our resulting focaccia turned out excellent if we do say so ourselves, but we’ll attach a photograph of our presentation board to let you be the judge!
We also started our sensory story this week, which for the Autumn term is Circus themed. Our excitement when walking into the classroom and seeing it transformed into a circus big top was incredible, complete with circus sound effects and plenty of circus stations to explore. We all loved feeling the straw floor, playing with the scary wild animals, and getting the chance to try our hand at being gymnasts; some of us are definitely ready to take Nelly the elephant’s place and pack our bags for the circus!
As always we hope everyone has a restful weekend, we can’t wait to welcome all of our friends back on Monday ready for our last week of the half term! – Dave and team 🙂
