What a wonderful first week back we have had. We had lots of celebrations for the Jubilee, a trip to Beamish, swimming, a trip to Charles Parsons and a workshop on steel pans!
On Monday, we celebrated the Queen’s Jubilee as a school. We started the morning by having a trail around school to find the Queens missing belongings, It was so much fun. We then had a party in the afternoon on the adventure playground with the whole school. We had lots of music, dancing, and cake, what a fantastic day we had!
On Tuesday, we started to design our very own posters for the Hadrian Carnival in July. Our topic this term is South America, so we have been learning all about Brazil and the fantastic carnival celebration they have. After watching some videos about the carnival, we got inspiration to plan our own posters to hang around school. We can’t wait for you all to see them.
On Wednesday, some of the children went to visit their new school, Sir Charles Parsons. We all had lots of fun meeting new friends and new teachers that we may see around school. We then continued working on our posters, they look amazing!
On Thursday, we were so lucky we got to go to Beamish thanks to The Rotary Club! We got to see what a 1940s school, houses and a farm looked like, it was so interesting! We even had a little ice-cream treat too!
