Amy’s class have had a swashbuckling summer term! The class have fully embraced their pirate topic this half term by learning to walk the plank with Captain Raggy Beard! The children have also been searching for treasure in their sensory story on the island of spice and gold. This story inspired our sensory art sessions to create our own island of spice and gold. During hydro sessions, the children enjoyed jumping aboard a “pirate ship” to go over the Irish Sea!
No topic would be complete without a trip, so we joined Ellen and Sarah’s class at ‘The Fun Shack’ for a fun afternoon aboard their pirate ship. The children are looking forward to completing their pirate adventures with an under the sea exploration at the Tynemouth aquarium.
We have had a fabulous half term in Class 7. We’ve had loads of fun exploring our topic which is ‘The circus’. We have been listening to the story of ‘The circus train’, painted our faces like clowns and also practiced some circus skills such as balancing and ribbon dancing.
We have also had plenty of fun in soft play which is one of our favourite places to go in school as well as learning new skills in the classroom. As the weather has been so cold we thought it would be nice to make something to feed the birds so moulded lots of seeds and nuts together to make fat balls to hang on the trees outdoors. We have also worked together to learn how to build using our large building blocks.
We hope you enjoy looking at all of our fab photographs showing just a snapshot of the exciting things we have been doing. Have a lovely half term break and we will see you all next half term
This half term has been filled with lots of fun! We started off the half term with Halloween baking and a disco followed by making spooky potions in the mud kitchen. Then it was bonfire night. Some of us didn’t enjoy the loud bangs but we loved making the paint splat like a firework!
Remembrance Day was next and we made red poppies by printing with apples and purple poppies with coffee filters and paint. We loved using the pipettes and it helped us with our fine motor skills.
We were so excited to see a fire engine in school as you can see from our faces!
Today has been Children in Need and we enjoyed making spotty headbands to wear to assembly and making a ‘couch potato’ pudsey bear. Don’t we look cute?!?!
We’ve had a blast this half term getting to know all our new friends and grown-ups! This is a snap shot of our half term. We hope you all have a lovely holiday!
This week we have enjoyed getting to grips with our Dinosaur topic with dinosaur yoga, painting dinosaurs and singing dinosaur rhymes. We hope you’ll be able to see our lovely art work at our coffee morning on Monday. Here’s a sneaky peak before then…
Welcome to Class 7 blog! We have spent the first few weeks of school getting to know our new friends and grown-ups in our new class. We have had lots of fun exploring school again!
This year we have Amy, Jackie, Karen, Clair and Wendy in our class.
We look forward to showing our learning throughout the year, but for now here are a few photos of our first few weeks back to school.
