What a wonderful week we have had celebrating World Book Day in fact we celebrated it all week! We have enjoyed exploring ‘The Hungry Caterpillar’ using lots of different media in the dance studio including pasta, fruit, giant balloons and a giant caterpillar. We have also been getting dressed up in different costumes and reading lots of books. On Thursday we had a very special assembly where we had a catwalk, some stories, singing and a special episode of ‘Who’s behind the story mask’. What great fun we have had.
What a lovely first week back we have had. This week we have had great fun exploring lots of sensory toys and media. We have been working hard on requesting ‘more’ of a fun activity and letting the adults know what we like. Some of us have been working on our physical skills and strengthening our muscles by using our walkers and standers or even just the adults finger to have a walk around school.
We had a lovely day celebrating Valentine’s day with our friends in school. We had a special sensory exploration with everything red and pink. We had heart balloons and beautiful flowers to smell. We had a nice and relaxing massage and listened to some love songs.
Another fun filled week here at Hadrian School. This week we have been enjoying getting back to nature with our Forest School project. Using our big voices as well as eye gazing to communicate while on the trampoline and in the Hydro pool. Playing with or alongside our friends and of course just having fun and plenty of cuddles, just look at those smiles 😊
What a busy few weeks we have had at school. They have been jam packed with lots of different therapy’s including Rebound, Hydro, music and massage. We’ve been having great fun with the parachute and bubbles and are loving spending time with our older friends in school.
We were very lucky on Tuesday and went to see a fantastic Panto at The Seven Stories. It was all about Jack and the beanstalk. We got to meet Jack, his mum, Penny the hen and of course the giant who lived at the top of the beanstalk. There was lots of music, dancing and cheering from the audience. After the show we went to Cafe Beam for our lunch and saw Libby, one of our ex pupils. We all had such a wonderful day.
We have had some amazing fun during our sensory sessions. We have been looking at and exploring with lights while tracking and asking for ‘more’. We also went for a walk through our Christmas market where we wrapped up warm, saw some twinkling lights, smelt mulled wine (non alcoholic), and tasted some melted chocolate and fudge. We have also been enjoying our rebound and hydro sessions as well as spending time in our standers and walkers.
Finally we have our class blog up and running so here are a few photo’s of some of the lovely activities we do each week.
Over the last term we have enjoyed and worked hard at our physical skills, including Rebound Therapy, Hydro Therapy, using standing frames as well as benches and corner seats to sit on during our class activities. We have also really been engaged in our Sensory Stories all about autumn, Halloween and bonfire night. We have had great fun in messy play using lots of different media to explore and of course make a great big mess!. We have made some wonderful relationships not only with our classmates but also with the adults in class and this have led to some amazing communication and Intensive Interaction. 😊
We have had another very busy week in Class! We have been working hard on our physical skills as always! We love getting on the trampoline, having our daily massage and stretches, tummy time and even standing!
We have been exploring our new sensory story ‘Walking through the jungle’. The classroom was transformed into a noisy jungle with lots of different animals and smells! Our favourite in class was the noisy elephant and the slimy snake!
We also worked so hard on our communication during Intensive Interaction. Intensive interaction is an approach which promotes communication, such as eye contact, facial expressions, sharing attention and building strong and trusting relationships!
Hope you all have a lovely weekend!

On Tuesday our classroom was transformed into a jungle for our new topic. During our sensory story we explored lots of different animals; we especially loved the green jelly for the slimy snake, the hanging spider web in the trees and we could even smell a campfire burning!
We have loved getting messy during art, we chose our own colours by eye pointing, got messy with the paint and created beautiful butterflies, look out for our wonderful creations!
As always we have worked so hard on our physical skills this week especially during our Rebound therapy sessions. Rebound therapy helps us with our balance and sitting skills, increases or decreases our muscle tone, promotes relaxation and even supports with our communication. We are all amazing at asking for ‘more’ on the trampoline.
