Final Post from 6a

19th July 2019Scott Marshall

Dear Parents/Carers

We have finally come to the end of another academic year. Thank you for all the gifts and cards for the team they are very much appreciated. This is a sad but exciting goodbye for the year 6 children who are leaving to go onto their next journey. I have taught most of these children for the past 3 years. That is 147 school weeks which is over 3000 hours teaching. We have also been lucky to have some new additions and some year 5 children into the mix this year. Over this time, your children have been surrounded by excellent teams and I would like to say a personal thank you to Ann, Colleen, Jen, Liam and to Ann, Andy, Helen, Rob, Stuart and Yvonne.

It really has been a privilege to work with all of the children and to watch them grow and progress over the years.  Thank you for your support and trusting us to take your children away on residential visits and looking after them every day. They will be fantastic in their new schools and the year 5 children will have all of this to look forward to next year.

So this is good bye and good luck from 6a.

Thank you

Scott, Ann, Colleen and Jen

Activities Week

12th July 2019Scott Marshall

Dear Parents/Carers

What a fantastic week we have had. We are very lucky to have been to Cragside, Tyneside Cinema, Lau’s Buffet, South Shields Pleasure Beach, Diggerland, Bowling and La Familia. The children have loved it and have been an excellent week to say goodbye. All of the trips were paid for via HEADS and we are very grateful to be given the opportunity to have these lovely experiences before the children move on to their new schools. We look forward to seeing you at the Year 6 Leaving Assembly on Thursday. Have a great weekend.

Thank You

Scott, Ann, Colleen, Jen

Dear Parents/Carers

We have had an excellent first week back. This week’s highlight has been the visit to Sir Charles Parson’s School. We all enjoyed a lesson and a play time with our friends from different classes and new friends from other schools. On Tuesday, we will be heading to Temple Park to take part in a rounder’s competition. There will be another session of FLOW on Thursday for those who attend. I have sent home another letter for the open evening at Charles Parsons, don’t worry if you have already filled the form in they have been sent on. We only have 6 weeks left together at Hadrian and we know it is a difficult time for your children, you as parents and carers and us but if you would like to discuss anything you are unsure of please get in touch. Have a lovely weekend.

Thank you

Scott, Ann, Colleen, Jen

Dear Parents/Carers

We have had an excellent first week back. We have had a lovely trip to the Range to spend money that was very kindly donated from a group of retired fisherman from the North Shields fish quay. Next week will be another very busy week. On Tuesday we will have our first official visit to Charles Parsons where we will have a tour and break time for the year 6 children. Wednesday afternoon there is the meeting about the residential visit for the children who are attending and on Thursday morning we have the exciting opportunity to go to the Nuns Moor fair. The children will get to go on all of the rides for free. Have a lovely weekend.

We are dancers!

24th January 2019Rachael Budden

6a and 6b were lucky enough to have Paul from Dance City come into visit us this week to teach us how to dance! He taught us a routine and then we freestyled in a big circle.  The children certainly showed us some amazing moves!  Thank you Paul, we had a fantastic time!

Dear Parents/Carers

Welcome back and a very happy new year. We have had an excellent first week back. We have been very busy with our new topics and have also enjoyed our first session with a rugby coach.  On the 28th of January we will be heading to the Sunderland Museum and Winter Gardens as part of our humanities topic.  Our swimming lessons on a Wednesday will also be split into 2 groups starting next week.  Which means lessons will now take place over 2 weeks for the children rather than every week. I will send a list home who is swimming next week when it has been finalized. We hope you have a lovely weekend.
