Well that’s our first (very short) week of the new term complete! Everyone has settled back in great and we’re so happy to see all the children happy and excited to learn.
On our first day back, we started the morning with Sing School. We learnt some new songs and the sing teacher was very impressed with not only their singing, but their signing as well! Everyone got a chance to sit and tell the class all about their Christmas break, it sounds like you all had such fun. We finished of the day practicing our one armed robots and ladder letters in handwriting. We’re all impressed with how much effort each child put into their handwriting.
Yesterday we introduced our new science topic, space. We were blown away with how much knowledge the children already had about the topic. They told us what the largest known star is called, what a supernova is, and all about the Milky Way! They also had great ideas for what else they would like to learn about. We spoke about who are strangers and who are safe strangers. The children had some ideas on who are safe strangers and how to keep safe.
Today was the first assembly of the term, where Charlie Logan received the certificate for his great progress and enthusiasm in reading. All the staff have been really impressed with the improvement he has made. We were lucky enough to have another football session over lunchtime where we practiced skills such as dribbling, throwing and catching. We finished the day with the children’s favourite time of the week, choice time!
We hope you all have a lovely weekend and are ready for a full week of learning next week!
