Hello everyone!

This Thursday we had a wonderful day in the yurt. We started off the day with some bean bags and blankets & sat around the fire listening to a story. After this we played some games including ‘pass the smile’, ‘zoom… eek’ and a game called ‘teeth’ which involved trying to speak with our lips over our teeth. We then had our snack, which was the lovely leak & potato soup that we made in cookery that we heated up on the stove in the yurt. After snack we had lots of fun playing parachute games and we had another story in front of the fire before lunch.

After lunch we played some more fun filled games in the yurt. We played facial snap which involves 2 people covering their faces and after the count of 3 you both reveal your faces to show an emotion… if the emotions match you both shout “snap”. We also played a game called “Lets go… yes”. This involves one person saying “can you…” and saying an action or a mime such as “pretend to be an aeroplane”.  Then everybody has a go at the action. The children really tried hard at this game and were very imaginative. After this we all made hot chocolate and had a lovely warming snack. After that we all sat in a circle and the children took turns miming various things and they all did a fantastic job. We then had one more lovely story before returning home.

We would also like to say a big well done to Noura who earned our certificate this week. She was awarded this for being so confident in the yurt on Thursday. She joined in with everything, from games like ‘pass the smile’ & ‘lets go… yes’ to helping to make the hot chocolate during the afternoon. She even used her big voice when playing ‘zoom… eek’. Well done Noura!
