We had a great day celebrating World Book Day on Thursday. We loved seeing everyone’s amazing costumes, ranging from Dorothy, the Hungry Caterpillar and Captain America!

In class we’ve been focusing on traditional fairytales. We’ve done a Jack and the Beanstalk themed sensory story which has been great fun, but on Thursday morning we had a Three Little Pigs themed activity. We got some straw, sticks and some building bricks so we could build all of the different types of houses that the three little pigs have. We loved building all the different houses! Then, the Big Bad Wolf came and shouted “I’ll huff, and I’ll puff, and I’ll blow your house down!”. It was really good fun!

Just before dinner time, we went down to Zoolab. They told us a story called ‘We’ve going on an animal hunt’ and they brought around lots of different creepy crawlies! We got the chance to hold a cockroach, a snake, a rat and a spider! Some of us were brave enough to touch and even hold the animals, whilst some of us preferred to watch on from a distance!

In the afternoon we had our special World Book Day assembly, where we got to listen to lots of stories, guess who was reading us a story in the Masked Storyteller and get to take part in a catwalk to show off all of our fabulous costumes!

A great day was had by all!
